Basilique

Basilique

Basilique is an adult-oriented members-only club in Second Life. But it’s more than just a club, it has a lot to offer with a lot of different activities. The setting is of an European town. I am standing in the main open area since you need to be a member to get into the bathhouse or watch the burlesque shows. I was given a bit of a sneak peek and you can also get a free guest pass for one week to check it all out. It’s very well done and definitely a stylish place to hang out. I hear currently they are showing a 90 minute production of Romeo and Juliet. You can keep an eye on Canary Beck’s blog for all of the details.

My skin, top and poses are all from Zodiac Taurus this month. Taurus is the sign of the bull. The bull is a symbol of strength, tenacity, virility, and power. There is a pretty awesome selection of items this month so grab the slurl and head on down there. I’m especially in love with this skin. I think it kind of makes me look exotic, what do you guys think?

  • This sounds like a very intriguing place. I have to try to stop by there tomorrow.

  • Definitely a very pretty build. I’m intrigued by the Romeo and Juliet production. But I have to admit, a $1000L pricetag for membership seems quite steep for a club/bathhouse with a hard-cap of 30 people at a time. I would think that any production would be packed quite quickly. Still, for those looking for quality entertainment without the seemingly everpresent gesture spam, its a dream.

  • Well Berrycakes, you always look beautiful but I really do rate this skin on you.

In fact in your photo you look scarily like a girl I work with in RL! (I think it’s the expression that nails it) I especially like your hair in this shot too. I can’t really wear styles without a fringe/bangs because I struggle to find ones that suit me, but I’m up for giving this one a shot.

I’m intrigued by the location as well, it sounds lovely so I’ll be sure to check it out. I’m always up for wandering around beautiful builds.

  • Berry, thank you for visiting us! As usual you look spectacular, and it’s wonderful to see the Basilique featured in some of your shots.

Nigel, it’s a little more than just a bathhouse and a club – there are a number of other locations within the sim, and we’re frequently adding to them. We think we provide very good value for that one-off price – and as you say, it provides an escape from what I’d consider the norm in SL, either nothing but gesture filled local, or stony silence. Thanks for visiting!

  • Thank you everyone for dropping by and commenting! I will have to agree that L$1000 is a very small price, especially since it’s only a one time fee, to become a member. I’ve know of other clubs that have had monthly membership fees that were way more than that. There are a lot more activities and such going on at Basilique than what I mentioned in this post, plus a great bunch of people to socialize with. I think everyone should take the slurl and check it out, definitely a beautiful place!

  • Fair enough! Will have to check back when it isn’t the middle of the night 🙂 The common areas are quite lovely!
