• 1.Almost exactly the same as your nr 1.
  I think that SL’s reputation may be the biggest problem SL has, even ahead of lag and other stuff.
  But LL is not doing a lot to fight its image, they still use sexy pictures to advertise with and it is very easy to find the randy kinky stuff, while it can be very hard to find a good educational sim for instance.
  I think that the Drax Files do more about ‘saving’ SL’s reputation then any advertising SL has done so far.
  But I think it is also up to us!
  Even though we may be a bit embarrassed about SL, we should not be ashamed about what WE do in SL.
  So step over that feeling and start sharing SL with all your RL friends.
  Yes, when I first mentioned SL on my RL facebook account I got all the replies I expected.
  But when I started sharing screenshots of educational events, historical sims and some stunning things I’d seen in SL, people changed their attitude and I’ve even introduced a few RL friends to SL.

  2.I wish that SL and Oculus Rift get together really quickly and that we will be able to use them together very soon.
  They are already talking to each other so it is only a matter of time… but I am impatient.
  So more technical advances and faster!!

  3.I wish there were 24 hour days in SL, lower tier, better avatars, integrated weather systems, less lag, etc.
  The usual improvements 😉

• 1) Built in spam reporting. For each IM: recipient reports it as spam? Reduce how often messages can come from the sender’s IP for a while. Charge something (anything! L$25!) to list an event, and use those fees to pay someone to nuke the junk listings. “Education event: POLL DANCING HOTTIES”

  2) Better inventory management. Tags? Search by date range? Purchase location? Acquisition date range? “Show me items acquired within a week of this shirt from this store”

• My rez day is a very good day to meditate upon what the SL genie might give me, were I lucky enough to find the magic lantern:

  1. I wish that all of the friends who had left Second Life had not left: Yes, I know that SL Is a huge time sink. Yes, I know that people move on, first life becomes more important or requires more attention, but I miss so many people with whom I used to spend some great time.

  2. I wish that I wouldn’t have to replace my computer every two years in order to keep up with this world. I have three Macs (!) that still run well in all ways except for struggling with Second Life.

  3. I wish the Lindens would wake up one day and say: “OMG, Second Life is the greatest thing since sliced bread…nothing else compares with it. We are going to go out and spread the word so that all might know just what a treasure we have.”

  That’s why they are called wishes. 🙂

• I so feel you on the first point. In my environment there are even people joking about SL being for no-life nerds and I can’t help but think they’re (partially) wrong… but I don’t feel like going against it. Why should we even have to defend such a beautiful, creative place against people who’ve made up their prejudice already?

• I find the SL viewer very stable.

  However,

  1) I wish land was not prohibitively priced so that I could have my own region. ALL other grids are about 1/4 of the price of SL and no setup fees. SO, I wish that SL wasn’t geared to only allow those with money to have regions. its become much too elitist and less like a game where everyone has a chance to become what their hearts desire.

  2) I wish that SL had pricing packages more like another grid I sometimes play on…you get an entire region, but the price is based on number of prims. so, lowest, region with 5000 prims, 15.00, highest, region with the full bounty of prims, 60.00

  3) I wish I would hurry up and learn mesh.

  hmmm maybe 1 and 2 are the same wish. if that is the case, my final wish would be, I wish the creations Im working on would turn out the way my little heart desires so I could sell them and make enough to afford my own land somewhere.

• 1) I wish I could change my name when I want to and not just a display name. For example being called Tenly Resident is pretty lame.
  2) I wish I could merge all my inventory from my SIX avatars so that I could delete the THREE I no longer need without losing everything I purchased.
  3) I wish SL was not becoming so overpriced that not only am I unable to afford a region, but its becoming too expensive to keep up with fashion. I have fashion needs!!!!

  okay, I realize posting three more after posting three is very selfish…but I wish…wish…wish…that Lindens cared.

• I have no blog but I have one wish to share. Aside from the usual wishes about lag, spam etc.. what I would really love, oh wise and powerful Genie of the Labs is for more designers to start recognizing that mesh is but one of the many tools for designing and isn’t always the best for the job (ie: all mesh bikinis or lingerie… why?? the fit always leaves something to be desired and I never had a problem with texture ones not moving with my body). I would love to see more looks where the designers use all the tools at their disposal in their best applications to come together into something that is more than the sum of its parts.
