Happy Father’s Day to all those celebrating! There are two Art Installations that I wanted to encourage you guys to visit today.
Salt on LEA7 by Eliza Wierwight

Salt is an installation by Eliza Wierwight on the LEA7 sim. Salt is incredibly powerful and I had the pleasure of exploring it with its creator. She took me around during her opening exhibition yesterday and I live streamed it to my YouTube channel, you can watch it at this link: https://youtu.be/Plv_Yu7QSS8
This installation was also very emotional for me and you’ll notice in the video I had to hold back tears at times. I feel like everyone should take some time to visit as it covers very dark, but important topics. I also love that she incorporated a tribute to This is America by Childish Gambino.
Here is a quoted statement from the artist herself about Salt:
As a fuller Immersive piece the philosophy of salt presents this way, I invite you to consider the journey through the installation as experiencing-dining from a pre-set menu of somewhat unpalatable stories & truths. Some of my own, some not. Though all manifestly important to me irrespective of origin. I’ve quite deliberately misappropriating the term ‘degustation’, this imparted itself as an ideal transition, as each segment-course is a unique work of it’s own volition. There are however other threads that drift through the work, as I’ve permit myself a further interplay of symbolic references in relation to the accoutrement’s of sustenance. In the context of literal salt, a basic commodity that exists in most kitchens of the World, it became a metaphor for the things that wound us, a conduit. Another thread meandering through this work, relates to the Japanese philosophy of Kintsugi, embracing the unique, flawed or imperfect. Life ingratiates itself with such hardship at times.
If we are the wounded, then let us embrace where possible those challenges & scars, and in surviving them or in our empathy for others that do, see ourselves as the beauty. We are the fine art.
Salt closes at the end of the month so visit soon.
Gaia’s Quest on LEA9 by Dragon Shichiroji
SLurl to Gaia’s Quest: https://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/LEA9/208/164/28
Gaia’s Quest is an immersive adventure to explore and self discover through the wonders of the ancient world on the LEA9 sim by Dragon Shichiroji. I didn’t get a chance to explore it properly yet, I just hopped over for a quick picture but I plan to visit soon. It closes on August 30th so you still have some time. The theme of the installation is Global World Concerns and you can click over to their website for more information: Gaia’s Quest
For more Art Installations to explore in Second Life, click over to the Linden Endowment for the Arts website. They cover the new installations as well as the ones that have added some recent updates, such as the Machinima Open Studio Project by Chic Aeon on LEA6.
Finally of course, SL15B opens today. I will be blogging more about that this coming week and also live streaming there very soon. Click over to see the SL15B Master Schedule and celebrate 15 years of Second Life with your fellow residents!
