Features and Feelings

In the past year, I’ve been approached by some Residents for collaborations and features that I’ve been very appreciative of. You guys give me a lot of love which really encourages me. I thought I’d share some of these features on my blog, in case you haven’t seen them yet.

Last week Feorie Frimon interviewed me, you can check it out on her YouTube channel here:

Back in February, Roman Godde took me on a field trip to Cravone City and we posed for an image there.

Back in November 2020 Ivory Snow interviewed me, you can watch it on her YouTube channel.

A big thank you to the three of them for the love and feature, I really appreciate it.

Since I’m the Social Media Manager at Linden Lab, I figured I’d take this opportunity to plug the “Get Featured” program. You can submit your content to get featured on Second Life socials in a variety of ways, read all about it in this blog post.

As for me, I’m not doing so well these days. My mom’s death anniversary is about to come up and there’s a lot going on, not only in my life but the state of the world these days, that is just really getting me down.

How do you cope with loss? What do you do to keep it together even when it feels like everything is falling apart?

.. you breathe in.. and breathe out and take one step at a time, no matter how little they are. it’s okay to be not okay sometimes. hugs <3

one step at a time – breathe in breathe out – sometimes we just stand still until we can move forward – and then another step knowing that we shall come thru this all

Lost my Dad a year ago in July, I take it one day at a time. When the sad comes up, I do my best to remember a good moment. It’s what we do!

  • I have found it helpful from time to time to step away from the news media and social media (admittedly somewhat difficult given your position at Linden Lab!), to give myself some time and space to let my wounds heal a bit from the bruising of the outside world.

More significant losses, such as your mother, can take some time to heal (I remember how I felt when I lost my father at age 21). Be patient and forgiving with yourself. Adding in crazy-making situations from the outside world that you have little to no control over can add to your daily stress, so setting aside some “me” time isn’t selfish, it’s simply setting boundaries and taking good care of yourself.

Seek out the advice and guidance of a trusted counselor(s) if you feel you need an additional perspective to help you deal with whatever is going on in your life (I talk with the psychiatrist who prescribes my antidepressant medications, and I even meet up and chat with someone biweekly in SL who runs an active listening service!). Remember that there is help out there if you need it.

Those of us who hang out in the metaverse are so lucky that sometimes we can use our interest to escape from painful, messy reality, even if it is only for 15 minutes or half an hour! Throw on an alt and go explore the grid, and be inspired by the amazing things you see!

Please feel free to reach out if you want to chat; you know where to find me 😉

Well, if you’re me, you cope with loss by not eating much else besides saltines for about 6 months. Please don’t be me though. I still haven’t found a real way to cope with loss outside of biding my time.

My mom passed away in my arm 3 years ago. I still have nightmares and I still think about her every day. There is no cure for a broken heart. All you can do Strawberry is breathe and take it one hour at a time. Special dates and holidays will be the hardest. Immerse yourself in things that you love to do, that bring you joy, especially on those special dates. Get in touch with friends, plan a party, create an image that you know would make her smile, etc. Most importantly, surround yourself with love and positivity. Positive vibes flowing your way my dear. ♥

I work in a bereavement team. I always tell people “Grief does not come with manual, everyone grieves in a way they need too.” All I can say is it takes time to recover from a loss and each first is always the hardest. Please stay strong as you can but know that people can relate to what you are going through.

Lots of distraction and one day at time. You are smart, you are beautiful, and most importantly, you aren’t alone.

We can totally go on another ride or just hang out – I promise to distract you and I promise not to film you this time. 🙂

Strawberry… I’m sorry you are feeling pain. I found my father on the floor in February this year. He passed while I was at work. The memories good and bad mixed stay with me. Some days are better than others. I don’t have any magic answers… I wish I did.
