My Interview with Philip Rosedale

My Interview with Philip Rosedale

I’ve been wanting to write this post for about two weeks now. I find it funny how I finally got a chance to write it on Virtual Worlds Day.

Lab Gab is a talk show I host on the Second Life YouTube channel, somewhat weekly. I do need to take a week or two off here and there for my own sanity, as it can be a lot of work to produce, especially with everything else on my plate.

About two weeks ago I had the opportunity to interview Philip Rosedale, the founder of Second Life. You can watch the video on youtube at this link:

To say it was one of the most important moments of my life is an understatement. I can’t begin to describe what Second Life means to me. I have been deeply engrossed in this virtual world for over 13 years of my life. It has affected my life in so many ways, more than anyone can imagine. I have learned so much about myself, and have grown and changed as a person because of it. To be able to spend time with the founder and talk to him about it, was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. At the end of the interview when I was thanking him, I had to hold back tears.

This was an experience I definitely wanted to share with my blog readers. So here it is, I hope you give it a watch; if you haven’t already done so.

As for me, I’m doing well. My family, for the most part, is okay. A close family member is in the hospital, please keep them in your prayers. Stay safe out there, it’s a scary world these days. Much love. <3

  • Hey Strawberry, seeing this post waiting for me in my feed reader made me smile. 🙂 I watched the recording of your interview with Philip Rosedale last weekend, was fascinating to discover some pre-history of Second Life.

Sorry to hear about your family member being hospitalized. I know it’s tough because of restrictions on visiting due to Covid-19. Sending you big virtual hugs. <3

Great to hear from Philip again. I still has his Willy Wonka quote in my avi profile:
There is no world I know that compare with pure imagination/ Living there you’ll free to be anyone you want to be.
