Myers-Briggs Challenge

I thought another way to celebrate the 15K was to do another blog challenge, this time the Myers-Briggs Challenge. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, which was developed by the mother-daughter partnership of Katharine Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers, is a questionnaire that reveals what your personality type is based on the conceptual theory proposed by Carl Jung. Jung had speculated that humans experience the world using four principal psychological functions: sensation, intuition, feeling, and thinking – and that one of these four functions is dominant for a person most of the time.

The Myers-Briggs Foundation has listed several options for those that want to take this questionnaire to figure out their personality type. The one they link to for the online method costs $50 to take, and you can do that one if you like.

However, you can take variations of the Myers Briggs Personality Test for free on these websites:

After doing all three of these tests, I got the same result, I am an ISFJ (Introversion, Sensing, Feeling, Judging). 16Personalities website also gives you a personal profile page that shares your results in details, you can check mine out at this link.

Here is a description of ISFJs from the Myers-Briggs website, you can check out descriptions of all types at this link.

“ISFJ: Quiet, friendly, responsible, and conscientious. Committed and steady in meeting their obligations. Thorough, painstaking, and accurate. Loyal, considerate, notice and remember specifics about people who are important to them, concerned with how others feel. Strive to create an orderly and harmonious environment at work and at home.”

After doing some research on ISFJs, I found the following information interesting:

  • ISFJs are among the most social introverts. While they, like all introverts, need time alone to recharge, they also highly value community and are quick to get involved. This is very true of me and often when I tell people that I am shy, and an introvert, they have a hard time believing me.
  • ISFJ is the most popular personality type. They have the highest frequency in the population according to the Myers-Briggs website and CareerPlanner.com with 13.8% of the total global population and 19.4% of the total female population. Almost 20% of women are ISFJs.

It’s been so much fun reading more about ISFJs. I encourage you guys to do the tests as well, if you haven’t already, and share your results in the comments of this post. Always interesting to learn more about each other.

Thanks again for subscribing to my YouTube channel and this blog. I really appreciate all the support you guys give me. Good luck to those that enter the giveaway!

I took the Meyers-Briggs over 20 years ago and it is still the same- I am an INFJ, the most rare personality type. It is very accurate. The strengths/weaknesses page is helpful to me. I need to look at those weaknesses and realize how they impact my life.

I’m smiling here. I first did the Myers-Briggs personality inventory some time in the mid 70s. At that point, I was just BARELY an ENFJ. The next time I took the inventory, some five years later, I was an XNFJ – dead on the line between Extrovert and Introvert. By the time I hit my 30s, I’d stopped trying to force behaviors that were not entirely natural to me, and I’d slipped into INFJ. I’ve remained there since – although I keep trying to push that “F” more towards the “T” indicator….

    (I)ntroversion
    I(N)tuition
    (F)eeling
    (J)udging

At 1.5% of the general population, INFJ is the rarest of the personality types.

One of my very fav stores is Coco. She has been around for a long time and rolled through the creators changes from prims to mesh to who knows? lol My oldest fav was LeeZu, but she did not keep her store after the creators changes in SL. Loved her unique style.

  • Nightingale Solo

INTJ, always, every time, thru years and years. It’s funny that we’re on such a social platform when so many of us are introverted. SL has helped me to be friendlier and more relaxed with those I don’t know.

  • Sparrow

Very interesting idea. I didn’t know there were so many different personality types. I got INFJ-T Advocate.
