#SecondLifeChallenge – Relaxation in Second Life – ASMR!

#SecondLifeChallenge – Relaxation in Second Life - ASMR!

This week’s #SecondLifeChallenge is all about relaxation and reducing stress.

Here are the instructions for the #SecondLifeChallenge this week: Share what you do in Second Life (or in real life) to relax and reduce stress. Don’t forget to leave a link to your post in the comments!

Life can get pretty hectic for me at times when it comes to my real life work so logging in to Second Life is always a treat for me and I love using my time here to do the things that I love to do and that in itself helps me relax and forget about real life pressures for a while.

Specifically though, here are a couple of things I do in Second Life (and online) to help me relax:

  • Explore a new sim and cam around using my 3D mouse: This is one of my most favorite things to do in Second Life when I really want to get my mind off work. I find a new sim to explore that has some great sounds, especially water or waves crashing. Then I break out my SpaceNavigator 3D mouse and just cam around slowly enjoying the sounds and the atmosphere. The sim I explored today is called Strangely Pretty and it was recommended to me by AnyaJurelle, who has a wonderful Second Life travel blog that you all must check out!
  • ASMR: I am also a big ASMR addict and often listen to a few ASMR artists on YouTube to just relax and also fall asleep easier. I have a few favorites but Maria from GentleWhispering is my absolute fav! Many people often tell me to do ASMR videos too because they say they find my voice relaxing. I have attempted an ASMR video before, but honestly, I didn’t feel I did a good job. So, today I am going to try again.

The video embedded below will be of me camming around the sim using my 3D mouse and speaking in a somewhat soft spoken voice. If you do not like ASMR or soft spoken sounds bother you, please do not click over! If you do enjoy ASMR, feel free to tell me how I can improve it if I decide to do another video in the future: https://youtu.be/CbsL6jAG5_U

You don’t have to have a blog to do this challenge, you can do it on any social media platform or vlog on youtube. Just don’t forget to tag your post with #SecondLifeChallenge and then leave the link to your post in the comments of this post.

Please remember there is no time limit to do this challenge, you can participate in any #SecondLifeChallenge at any time. You’ll find them all under my Blog Challenges category along with other memes and challenges I’ve done over the years. I’ve also started a #SecondLifeChallenge playlist on my YouTube channel.

Exploring Second Life YouTube Series

I did want to mention that I want to start a weekly Exploring Second Life series on my YouTube channel, kind of like my Friday Finds that I used to do back in the day. The only problem is, I am not sure I’ll be able to commit a certain day each week because of my real life work schedule. I might miss a week here or there but I really do want to start adding more videos to my Exploring Second Life YouTube PlayList.

Right now I’m thinking of either doing it live and live streaming it and then invite you guys to join me and explore with me while I explore. Or, if this ASMR video gets a positive response, then perhaps I’ll do soft spoken videos like this while I explore. The only reason I am afraid of the live streaming one is because I am not sure I can commit to a set date and time each week, but I guess if I missed a week every once in a while, it wouldn’t be a big deal.

I’ve set up a poll below, please enter your preferences on how you’d like the series to be and I’ll keep the results of the poll in mind when I make my final decision. Multiple selections are allowed in case you want me to do all of the things and if you have a better idea for the series, leave it in the other section.

Suggest a Sim to Explore

If you would like me to explore your sim, I have set up a Google Document that you can fill out. Please make sure that the sim you are suggesting is machinima friendly (making videos/machinima is allowed on the sim). I can’t promise that I will be able to visit your sim for sure, but I will do my best. This way I will have a list of machinima friendly sims that you guys want me to visit and it will make it easier for me to do the series.

Thanks for reading, participating, filling out the poll and suggesting sims in advance. <3
