Mayreal Bento Mesh Heads

Mayreal Olivia Bento Mesh Head

The designer of Mayreal mesh heads, her name is Arphaya, sent me the Mayreal bento heads about a month ago and I have to admit, it took me a while to figure them out and understand how everything works. In fact, I am still unsure about it but I will do my best to cover it the best I can so please do excuse me if I make any mistakes in the video while showing all of the options that the heads come with.

I am mentioning three heads from Mayreal today: Nadia, Aria and Olivia. However, my video and the shape I made for this post will only be for Olivia. After searching for a while, I noticed that the designer is not on any social media platform at all so the only things I can link to are the marketplace store and the mainstore.

I have done a detailed video about Olivia, but first here is some written information about all three heads:

    • Price: Nadia and Aria cost L$1900 and Olivia is currently at a promotional price of L$1700. I am not sure how long this promotion will last. The Demos are free and both are available in the marketplace store and the mainstore.
    • Omega Compatibility: The Mayreal heads are omega compatible and require an omega relay HUD if you wish to apply omega appliers on them. More details about this on the Omega blog and you can pick up the Omega relay HUD for Mayreal heads on marketplace.
    • Layers:  These heads come with 7 makeup layers + extra 3 layers for tongue and teeth.
    • Head Versions: The heads come in 4 different versions which you can choose to wear to reduce your avatar complexity. All 4 versions can be further customized with – customize and makeup HUD, depending on the layers they have. Here is a list of the versions with their complexities:
      • 8 layers full version (around 33,900 complexity) for maximum experience – supports all layers (lipstick, blush, eyeshadow, brows, hairbase, face tattoo1, face tattoo2, tongue tattoo1, tongue tattoo2, teeth tattoo, adjustable inner mouth shadow, adjustable nostrils shadow).
      • 6 layers version (around 15,800 complexity) all makeup – for regular everyday use – supports all makeup layers and hairbase; doesn’t support – tattoo layers, adjustable mouth shadow, tongue and teeth tattoos
      • 2 layers version (around 10,500 complexity) hairbase – for visits in crowded areas and use with skins that have makeup already included, hairbase layer for best hair look
      • 1 layer version (around 5,600 complexity) skin only – very light, with only one skin layer and no extra layers
    • Skins & Cosmetics: The heads come with two different skins: Luna and Pearl (I’m wearing Pearl in this post). They also come with blush, brows, eyeshadow, hairbase, lashes, lipstick, tattoos (freckles, beauty marks, moles), teeth tattoos and tongue tattoos.
    • Body Appliers: The heads come with system skin that will match your default body to your head if you wear the Pearl skin. There are also Maitreya body appliers to match the Pearl skin, only available in their marketplace store.
    • HUDs: They come with two HUDs: Customize & Makeup HUD and the AO Animation HUD.
      1. Customize & Makeup HUD gives you detailed control over your looks, including skins and makeup. It also includes tinting, materials, and 9 neck sizes to choose from.
      2. AO Animation HUD consists of 6 talk animations, each with 3 speeds, 9 blink animations randomly playing and with adjustable timers, 96 static expressions: 10 default eyes,17 brows, 9 eye corners, 42 lips and each can be extra modified with 9 lip gaps and 9 lip corners. (static expressions offer hundreds of combinations to compose your face expression) 48 full animations with pause option, some continuously animating (licking). All animations and expressions can be combined into dynamic moods with adjustable timers and saved to 4 mood slots. 10 preset dynamic moods to choose from – expressing various kinds of emotions. 16 gestures to trigger animations – editable to fire up to 57 animations and blinks.
    • Gestures: To trigger your lips when you use inworld voice, enable the 3 gestures in the folder: voice talking 1, 2 and 3. You can also open the Gestures box in the folder to open and use the 48 animations and 9 blinks that you can trigger with gestures.
    • Pose Stand & Studio Lighting Set: These heads also come with a pose stand and a pose stand with lights for Advanced Lighting Model to see materials effects. In the folders there is also a studio lighting set.
    • Customer Service Questions: If you have any questions about this head, it would be best if you looked at the designer’s profile, her name is Arphaya, to see how she prefers to be contacted for customer service issues as I will probably not be able to assist you with that.

  • Love the fact that the designer isn’t stupid enough to be on “social” media. Still not gonna buy into the Mesh and Bento hype anytime soon, since I’m fukn oldstyle bootiful the way I am! Hehe.

    =^.^=

For clarification: No, I don’t consider my personal weblog a social platform. Basta!

  • Hey Orca, I absolutely understand your point of view about avoiding social media but I do feel that content creators in Second Life should at least have a flickr account where customers can look up all of their recent releases and get more information about them. It can really affect their sales and grow their customer base.

  • I like the fact that it has different versions with different complexity counts, that’s entirely clever. This is the first time I have heard of this head. Never heard of a tattoo layer on the tongue and teeth? amazing. I also LOVE being able to get more changes into the features with the hud. It has some really neat features. The animations made me giggle when it came to that intense level smile.

  • Interesting head and details they’ve taken into consideration.

You’re quite right, too, Berry – a creator does need some kind of social media account if they want to be taken seriously (a fact of marketing life, sadly).

I’m sure he/she/they will get around to it soon though 🙂

  • Another set of no-mod Bento heads. :\ It’s really a shame that so many content creators outside the anime/furry communities are selling content that restricts how much people can personalize their own avatars.

  • Hello!,

I really love the Mayreal Nadia head but as the blog described you have to tweak the eyes, and there is where my problem lies. I had the same issue with a LAQ head and could not get it done. Have others been able to do it and how?

  • I NEVER look to see if a designer is on a social media platform, and I shop more than anyone I know. If the product is worth buying, I’ll buy it. Actually, I get annoyed when designers link their Flickr, a simple snapshot is more than enough for me, to each their own, right? I guess I’m biased though; I’m a Facebook hater.

  • can you link the skin applier you used that didn’t come with the head?

  • MistyMouse

I own two Mayreal heads, Stella and Olivia, and this tutorial taught me a lot. Just to know that Glam Affair appliers for Logo are omega skins that will work on this head is news to me – I know of a lot of people trying to find omega appliers from Glam Affair that have given up. I do love my Mayreal heads, the softer lines of the face and head appeal to me more than the harder lines of other mesh heads.
