BVN Presents The Bloggies

(BVN) The Blogger & Vlogger Network is a group and website built specifically for networking and education purposes. BVN strives to provide bloggers and vloggers with the most pertinent, up-to-date, and interactive information available. The BVN inworld group is free to join and open to all bloggers and vloggers. BVN also has their own Discord server that anyone can join to participate in the discussions there as well.

Aside from the social interactions BVN provides us bloggers and vloggers, they also hold informative live discussion panels every week where they have different bloggers, vloggers, creators and other members of the community covering a range of topics from vlogging, photography, events and more. I have previously been a part of two of their discussion panels on Product Reviews and Social Media.

With all of this support that they offer the blogging and vlogging community, now they are venturing out even further and introducing the biggest awards ceremony designed specifically for the Second Life blogging and vlogging community! The Bloggies will recognize key contributors in the blogging and vlogging community.  Nominations are NOW OPEN in 22 different categories including hair bloggers, accessory bloggers, unboxing vloggers, most improved, and so much more!

This is a great way to encourage all of the Second Life bloggers and vloggers that work so hard to provide informative content to our community, but also helps you, the readers, discover even more bloggers and vloggers to subscribe to and follow!

I was asked by the BVN team to be a judge in three of the categories (Best Male Blogger, Best Female Blogger, and Blogger of the Year) that means I cannot win in those categories. However, I would also like to highly encourage all of you to not nominate me in any of the other categories either, but instead nominate some of the other bloggers and vloggers that you also read and subscribe to. It would be great to see some new talent get the recognition and find some more bloggers and vloggers to subscribe to.

In order to nominate your favorite bloggers and vloggers, you need to enter in their UUID in the form located on this page: The Bloggies. UUID stands for Universal Unique IDentifier (another word for key) that can be used to reference items and avatars. If you are not sure how to find someone’s UUID, you can check out BVN’s video that shows you how to get it if you use the Firestorm viewer. But if you don’t use the Firestorm viewer, or you just don’t feel like logging in to Second Life to get all the UUIDs, you can use the Name2Key site to look up the UUIDs of different SL residents just by entering their names in the box. I am not familiar with the group that has offered this service as opensource, but I have verified that it does provide the correct UUID. So that is a quick and easy way for you guys to look that up and use it to fill out the BVN Bloggies nomination form.

After the voting process there will be a ceremony on Saturday, October 14th at 12pm SLT. I will do my best to be there at that time, if real life does not get in the way! I will also try and live stream it on my youtube channel so you can watch it live with me if you can’t make it to the ceremony inworld.
