  I see a lot of advertisements on Facebook, but I also watch your YouTube channel and a few others, if you’d like specifics I could probably rattle them off? I have seen a few things on Flickr and in world when someone posts a notice about an upcoming event they are participating in. Blueberry tends to do that a lot.

  I mainly keep updated about SL events and releases by following blogs and looking at the pictures on Flickr. I also get group notices inworld from my favourite brands but try to keep that limited to only a few as group notices can get a bit too much 😉

  I do try my best to keep up with events and fashion, though I have a style all my own which rarely coincides with the typical resident. While most seem to gravitate towards high heels and flashy couture, like my profile says “1st life & 2nd life are one in the same…what you see is what you get”, I’m rarely seen in anything more than comfortable casual clothing IRL and tend to lean that way in SL as well. I suppose some would call me boring for that but I suppose I see it as being as me as me can be.

  As for where, Facebook…your blog, your youtube (you set me back a pretty penny with your powder pack unboxing videos, having not heard about it beforehand and being two months behind lol)…inworld group notices (can we have a few more slots dear lindens PLEASE?!) and I occasionally check out flickr. Oh yes and last but certainly not least, my friends.

  Side note: I wish more designers would use opt-in subscribers (ya know – the kind you have to choose to subscribe to, rather than the ones that automatically add you when you buy something or land on their sim) rather than in-world groups, especially if they don’t update often. I am not so much interested in gifts from them as much as I just want to know when they have something new, but I can’t keep a precious group spot for inactive groups.

  I am a blogger in SL so I do think I need to keep up with the trends, but oddly, I don’t always blog the trends. I tend to just blog what I like and for my sponsors. Some follow those trends and some do not.

  I do however, love to read the fashion blogs that I come across or find great interest in. I tend to look at Social Media (Plurk, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr) and I usually keep up via store subscribers inworld and group notices. Attending and looking around so many events that go on in inworld and checking Flickr for current trends for my everyday outfits is usually where I will wear the trending items. Sadly, I change soooo much and so often that I do not get to wear them for very long. I like many different styles, sci fi, techy, fantasy much more than the trends.   I use Seraphim a lot, their blog is great because it gives you the meat of the events without a bunch of other stuff to wade through…that is very important when there are soooooooooo many events to keep up with.

  I also use your blog, but I’m bad about keeping up with posts. Now that I found you on Youtube, it is awesome! I get the notices on my computer when you post a video and your videos remind me to check your blog.

  Facebook and Flickr are other sources for updates that I use, but the first three are the ones I use the most and find the most useful.

• Hypatia Voom, Rez day 15 April 2007. Strange that I have never much celebrated my Rez day – because joining Second Life has changed my physical world more than I ever imagined.

  Shortly after rezzing – and I have to admit Hypatia was my reincarnation – I played SL with a friends avatar but we had very different reasons for being in SL. Anyway this sounds soun strange but I met my now husband of 8 years in the Ivory Tower of building. On a how to visit this very outgoing Australian greeted me with a ‘g’day’.

  I’m a Londoner, was very UK based but after 2 years getting over a very low spot and chatting to my new Aussie mate I visited Melbourne, met my darling little troll and decided to try living 10,000 miles away. I still have a life in SL – it’s my playground for home improvements and fashion faux par. I am in several groups that take part in events and I do tend to visit as many as I can just to see what creators release.   May 22, 2003 is my Rez date. (Or 21st.. somewhere around there.. avid mind goes with old age…) So I am just shy of 14 years myself.

  My main source has to be Facebook, it is the easiest spot to kind of follow different blogs. So I follow the bloggers and as long as they post their updates to there then it is great for me. If not I will go back and look at some of the ones I know when I am looking for something special. I love looking through stuff on Flickr as well.
