Linden Endowment for the Arts – Round 13 Applications Open!

I believe this is the first time I am blogging about the LEA so I thought I would give a bit of a background on it before I begin. The Linden Endowment for the Arts (LEA) was established to help create a center of arts activity in Second Life. It is a collaborative venture between Linden Lab and the arts community. Through its exhibitions, programs, and events, it fosters awareness of artists’ contributions to our virtual world and encourages others to get involved and be inspired.
The LEA is run and organized by residents of Second Life, with resources generously donated by Linden Lab. The LEA has an official Linden Lab page and a blog and a full list of current LEA committee members can be found on the LEA website.

Through the generosity of Linden lab, the LEA is able to offer the LEA AiR Land Grant, which is a program that distributes 20 regions to different artists to be used to promote art and artistic endeavors in Second Life for 6 months. They are currently accepting applications for Round Thirteen and if you are chosen to be one of the 20 recipients, you will be granted land on July 1st and will have 6 months to complete and display your project. For more details about this, click over to read and fill out the application. They will close applications on May 31st for this round.

In the following video I’m going to show you some LEA projects from the 12th round of the LEA AiR Land Grant program. The images from this post are also of the projects from the 12th round and they will be gone soon so make sure to visit them as soon as you can. To visit these projects, all you need to do is go to the LEA welcome area, stand close to the poster of the place you want to visit and then just touch it once with your left mouse and it will give you the slurl to click in local chat.
