Akeruka Bento Male Mesh Heads
Akeruka is the first to release some Bento mesh heads for the male avatars, so now you guys can pick them up and try them out too! Of course you will need to use the Bento release candidate viewer since Firestorm still has not released their Bento viewer as of yet. However, I am hoping we’ll have the Firestorm as well as the official viewers updated with Bento capabilities very soon.
In the past few weeks Akeruka has updated and released 7 Bento heads, 5 female and 2 male. The two male mesh heads are Marco and Mike.
Marco is currently available at Men Only Monthly event until November 1st and it is a brand new mesh head release. It comes in 2 versions, Bento and regular. Each version comes with 10 skin tones and options for eyeliners, eyelashes, facial hair and more. I’ve done a little video showing the Bento version.

The cost of the Marco head is currently L$2499 and after Bento goes official, the price will be raised to L$2999. Teleport over to MOM event and pick up a free DEMO.
The Mike head is a previously released mesh head that has now been updated with the Bento bones. If you had previously purchased the Mike head, you should have received an update automatically, or you can head down to the Akeruka main store and hit the redelivery. For those that previously purchased this head, you should also receive a separate expressions pack that I will be showing in the following video. The expressions pack will be a pack that will be available for purchase separately for all of the Bento mesh heads once Bento goes official.

Mike is available at the Akeruka mainstore for L$2499, the price will go up to L$2999 once Bento goes official so head down to the mainstore now and pick up a free DEMO.

- What is Bento? – On December 15th, 2015, Linden Lab announced a new project called Bento. Basically what they are doing is adding additional bones to the Second Life avatar skeleton to support both rigging and animation.
- Weekly Meetings – Linden Lab has been having weekly meetings about Bento, which everyone is invited to. They announce them on the Bento User Group wikipage every week.
- Second Life Bento Release Candidate Viewer – You need to download the Second Life Bento Release Candidate Viewer in order to use or see any items rigged to the Bento Skeleton.

I have made shapes for both of these heads and you can see me wearing them in the images, but I am not ready to release them as of yet. I will very soon, just need to get them up in my marketplace store soon. As soon as I do, I will update this post and link to them here.

Oops, I figured I should leave a comment on an related post 🙂
A friend of mine has just bought AK’s Marco Bento head and has the Signature body. All the posts I read say that AK’s head come built in with skins, but when he chooses the skin on the mesh HUD the skin on the Signature body does not change colour. There is always a mismatch 🙂
Any idea on what he could be doing wrong?

Had a very negative experience with these people that I feel I should leave a review since I am utterly disgusted by.
I will say their CSRs lie to you, and if you make a purchase based on those lies the owner will not make things right in any shape for form, not even a token. I bought the tony head and had a hell of a time finding a black skin that was suitable. I saw the Keith head and noted its skin was what I liked so i asked in chat if Keith came with the same dark skin that applied to the body, I was told yes. Well I go and buy the keith head just for the skin, low and behold the skin Keith comes with is the exact same skins as what tony comes with. So i contact the owner who tells me even though I clearly stated I bought it solely based on his CSR telling me Keith’s skin was different and applied to the body, which it did not, that no refund was possible. So this company supports their CSRs lying to make a sale and when you point out the error its your loss.
They basically scammed me. I had no reason to buy Keith head other than for the skin (( head + body )) for tony. I only bought it based on the CSRs word that it would indeed apply to tony and indeed had a different + matching body skin, well sad to say the body skin included with Keith does not match, the head is dark, the body skin is light.
