LeLutka Swish Hair

swish

Back in November LeLutka released their first “swish” hair. Their swish line of hair consists of animated hair that moves like it is blowing in the wind. It has a very subtle and natural way of moving. Since their first release in November 2015, they have released more swish hair in December 2015, January 2016, May 6th, 2016 and now May 28th, 2016.

Since you can’t capture the movement in an image, I had made a video of the hair back in November, now here is another video of the rest of the releases since then:

Watch the video on Youtube: https://youtu.be/Yj1bsNcTQB0

I filmed the video on the beautiful Salt Water sim. One thing to note, the Clarice hair you see in the first image has two versions of it. I forgot to try on both versions of it in the video but you can see the other one in the first image. (UPDATE: One thing I forgot to mention, each swish hair has a static version as well in case you want to wear the style without the animation)

In the video I showed all of the releases from May, January and December. If you also want to see a video of the older November releases, check out my older video on youtube at this link: https://youtu.be/7Xk6fnHaXfE

When the hair was first released, I had a few people asking me how much lag the hair causes. I am not sure if there is a specific way to look that up, can you tell me? As you can see the in the video, it took a few seconds for each hair to load, but once it did, it moved around beautifully without making the video choppy at all. I also did not feel an increase in lag while I was at the sim changing the hair. So even though I’m not sure what the technology is behind this animated hair, it hasn’t affected my viewer performance at all.

You can pick up all of the LeLutka Swish hair on the Second Life marketplace as well as the LeLutka mainstore.

Monica

The skin I’m wearing is called Monica and is currently available at Shiny Shabby from YSYS. I really loved the messy eyebrows and all the details in the skin that Monicuzza Babenco puts in her releases. I’m wearing it with the LeLutka Simone head.

The dress I’m wearing is from RealEvil Industries and it will be available at Tropical Fair starting June 3rd. Usually they release very detailed jewelry but I’ve noticed they have also started getting into clothing. The dress is available in Maitreya, Hourglass and Physique fits and there is also a version of it that can be worn as a top.

Happy Shopping!

Strawberry, may I ask what stands you’re using? I’m constantly looking for nonbusy AO stands and have very little luck, cling to my circa 2011 stands that don’t make me look like a two-year-old on crack.

  • Hello Mellyn, I actually bought these stands back in 2010 or so I think. They are breathing animations from Vista Animations. So I took them along with a few other walk and such animations from other places and made my own AO. But yes, these stands are the perfect stands for me. I don’t like busy AOs.

Thanks so much! I’ll see if they’re still available. Perhaps AO makers will listen and fill this hole!

First, the hair … imo Catwa and Analog Dog make hair that moves more naturally. This LeLutka hair looks clumpy, as if it has too much product in it and needs to be washed.

Second, the AO … I’ve been trying for a long time to find a good one, bought a couple that make me look like I’m crazy and can’t hold still! But I couldn’t find breathe soft on Vista’s MP. Is it only available inworld? It looks so perfect!

  • Mellyn, that’s great news! Were they in the Vista mainstore?

Luna, correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t Catwa and Analog dog’s moving hair flexi and not mesh? Not sure as I don’t believe I had heard about moving mesh hair before.

I am not sure where the animations are. Like I said, I bought them back in 2009. But looks like Mellyn just found them. If they are not in the marketplace store, I assume they are in the mainstore.

You are right, the other two designers use flexi. AD has added rigged mesh to some styles, but that component doesn’t move. I sail, so like my hair to move in the breeze! I delete the scripts to lower my script count, to make sim crossings smoother. Some sailors go bald, but that’s not necessary. Maybe the LeLutka hair would be a good alternative, and certainly would look like RL hair while sailing. 🙂

  • if anyone else is looking for those animations, you can find them here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Vista%20Animations/192/132/26 Thank you Strawberry Singh! and thank you to Mellyn Llewellyn. i asked her inworld and she offered to take me to them directly, a well as giving great directions. you will find it at the back of the store, right below there “VA FREE ZHAO2 (empty zhao2 mod)” (if you use firestorm, then just search that and you will find it easily. they have it right up front in there 2nd store, but it’s 30 linden each more there.

  • Thankk you so much pertaining to giving me personally an update on this matter on your web
site. Please realise that if a brand new post appears or
when any adjustments occur with the current post, I would consider reading
more and knowing how too make good usage of those strategies
you write about. Thanks for yolur efforts and consideration of other people by making this blog available.

I was looking at the article about the hair and me being me thought I’d have a look at the comments as well. I would like to say a massive big thank you. I have been looking all over the grid for standing animations that don’t make me look as though I’ve got ants in my pants. Mellyn is right some of us want to look as though we are standing still(ish) and the breathing animations are perfect for the job. Now I feel complete :)).
