Birds of Paradise

Birds of Paradise

Zaara Kohime has done it again. After all these years she still manages to WOW me again and again. Her ‘Birds of Paradise’ series will be available at Collabor88 on January 8th. The series consists of the Sarika feather earrings which you can see in the first image and the Aletta ear wings which you can see in the second image.

The Sarika feather earrings will come in 6 different colors and different versions as well. Since the earrings are so long, she has provided rigged versions so they behave like hair when wearing them and don’t intersect with other items too much. The folder will contain rigged versions for LeLutka mesh heads, Logo mesh heads and Mandala mesh ears. The LeLutka mesh head versions also work on default Second Life heads since the Lelutka ears and default ears are in almost the same positions. There will also be an unrigged version available in there just in case. These earrings will come with a HUD to change metals from silver or gold.

The Aletta ear wings are not rigged and will also come with a HUD to change metals, from silver or gold, as well as resizing them. Both the earrings and ear wings are beautifully done and all of the feathers are 100% hand drawn! I cannot stress enough how blown away I was with the textures and prints she has chosen. I’m wearing the pastels in the first pic and the earth colors in the second.

They will be available at Collabor88 later tonight. You can check out Zaara’s flickr for more images and info in the description.

I am wearing the LeLutka Karin mesh head with the Mavi skin applier from Glam Affair. The Mavi applier was released back in September and Aida has created a whole store on her sim just for LeLutka mesh head appliers. It is right across from her main skin store. This is the exact SLurl to the LeLutka mesh head applier store.

Recently I had blogged a Logo applier from Glam Affair that was released at an event back in October. A lot of people contacted me afterwards because they were having a hard time locating it. I found out that Glam Affair has a satellite store and Aida has started to put a lot of her older skins as well as appliers for other mesh heads such as Logo and Catwa in that store. This is the SLurl to the satellite store in case you’d like to visit.

  • Hey Owl, I don’t know much about Bento yet but I heard that it might not affect mesh heads. I guess we will find out soon.

  • New changes keep it exciting it will be fun to see what Bento does change or adds. : )

  • Gorgeous photograph. I love the way you give your creations a sense of emotion. I’ve happily review many of your tips/tools for working with photography in second life. One question I have for you is, how do you work with hair? Often I will get nice hair and one small section will be out of place or clipping into something. I would love to see a video of how you work with the small errors in a photograph to produce a more finished touch.

  • Ariel I try and find a pose before shooting that works well with the hair and has as less clipping as possible. I haven’t really noticed any major clipping since mesh hair hit the grid.
