Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I don’t have a valentine this year so I did some exploring on my own today of a place I had never been to before in Second Life. So this is my Friday Find and Weekly Roundup post for this week.

Friday Find: Elven Isle of Telrunya

The Elven Isle of Telrunya is a new fantasy sim that just opened its doors recently and can be found on the Second Life Destination Guide. I was invited by one of the PR Managers of the sim to come visit and take a look so I thought this would be a good opportunity to do a Friday Find. I decided to pose in the pictures this time since I liked my fantasy look so much.

I enjoyed the sim a lot. It has many different areas to explore and each area has its own charm. My pictures are from the top level of the sim. If you’d like to see more images of the place, check out Mr. Ciaran Laval’s post about it from last week, he’s got many images in there and did a nice job of blogging it. I also found a video of the sim on youtube taken by Zarrakan Productions. They also did a very good job of exploring all areas of it and showing it in great detail.

Weekly Roundup

1. Photographer of the Week: Kevin – I love his avatar, his sense of casual style and his use of light in his images. His pictures are like eye candy to me.
2. Second Life History Quiz by Canary Beck – Have you taken the Second Life history quiz yet? I got 52%. Obviously I need to study harder.
3. Mesh Body Survey – Have you done the mesh body survey as of yet? It’s aimed at ladies who own and use mesh bodies regularly. The survey was created by Iki Akiri owner of Violent Seduction.
4. One Billion Rising in Second Life – One Billion Rising is an event that happens every Valentine’s Day, since 2012, to raise awareness and end violence against women. This event was brought into Second Life in 2013 and has been continuing the tradition inworld for two years now. There is a One Billion Rising event going on right now inworld, make sure to drop by if you can today. I’m going to try and make it to an OBR event in RL later today. I’ll try and see if I can drop by to the OBR SL event as well.
5. The Drax Files Radio Hour show #55 – One Billion Rising – Drax and Jo recorded their podcast live from OBR this week and spoke a lot about violence against women with the audience members. They also talked about Ebbe Linden’s first rezday and asked audience members what they thought of Ebbe as a CEO of Linden Lab so far. Was an interesting conversation!
6. Check Out the Latest Improvements to Second Life – Linden Lab announced some new changes coming up to the viewer and the Graphic Settings caught my eye. Needless to say, I am very excited about this feature. I plurked about it. You can see what other changes people are excited about it.
   
7. Top 10 Traits Of A Fully Empowered Woman – I found this article on point and inspiring. I think all women should read it.
8. Buzzfeed Quiz of the Week: What Should Be Your Valentine’s Day Inspiration Quote? – Since it is Valentine’s Day.
