Eloquence

a chance encounter

Eloquence is a new events blog that has timely coverage of high-traffic and high-quality shopping events in Second Life. The site is very easy to navigate and has already covered majority of the big shopping events currently happening inworld.

I’m wearing both male and female versions of the shawl collared coats and tailored pants from Coco. These two outfits are available at two different events. The female version is available at FaMESHed and the male version is available The Mens Dept this month. I really like the way they did that, so you can match your significant other if you like. Since the name in my partner box is Manberry, I was stuck with him. 😛

Both of these events were covered by Eloquence on their blog as well, so you can click over to see the rest of the items available there.

The build in the images you see was actually a little gift from Mr. William Weaver. He also showed me a few lighting tricks and such in Firestorm Phototools menu. So the suits may not look as shiny to you as they do in my images. I didn’t make them shinier in photoshop, it was actually all inworld settings that he has taught me.

This is the first time I’m actually using Firestorm. I never quite grasped all the settings in Phototools before but after learning what all of them do, I understand it a lot better. Of course my images are nowhere as artistic and realistic as his, but I am having a lot of fun just playing with all the settings. Once I learn a few more things from him, I’m thinking of doing some tutorials, that’s if you guys would be interesting in learning as well.

I do I have to say, because of him, I have permanently switched to using the Firestorm Viewer for all of my photography now.

UPDATE: Mr. William Weaver has actually made tutorials for Phototools himself and uploaded them to youtube, so I made a playlist of all of them: Phototools Tutorials by William Weaver
Also, you can click over to his blog where he has even more information and resources.

  • I’ve always used Firestorm- think about the fact I only started playing with photoshop on my images in the last couple of months. You can PULL OFF A LOT of impressive stuff with phototools!

  • love the shots, and the Eloquence site and in world group is such a great idea and a great way of keeping track of events happening in second life

  • I would LOVE phototools Tutorials! Please, please, please tutor us!

  • Well…I’ve never been a fan of FS, but I am curious to learn more from your perspective, Berry, as I hold you in high esteem – especially when it comes to in-world photography. I must say that I really like the new filters and other upgrades to the photographic system in the official LL viewer, recently. I’ve been playing with those and have been quite pleased with the results.
I love those suits – and have sent Aeon off shopping! Wheeee!

  • Thanks everyone for the comments!

Actually, as Tracy has linked in her previous comment, Mr. William Weaver himself has already put up some excellent tutorials on youtube, so what I’ve done is made a playlist of all 8 of the ones I found on his youtube channel so you can watch them in order. I think they are very comprehensive and easy to understand…also his voice is quite pleasant to listen to. 🙂

  • Also, will Mr Weaver be making that build available for sale? It looks amazing!

  • No unfortunately, I don’t believe he will. He told me he doesn’t put his builds up for sale anymore.

  • Its funny, for a long time I logged in the Firestorm Viewer. Used the tools a bit before. But I find I crash less with the current SL Viewer. They seem to come out with versions that mess up my Mac. Firestorm does have MANY cool options that I wish that SL Viewer had.
