Brokenhearted

brokenhearted

On Monday I will be 34 years old and I know as you grow older you are supposed to become more mature and sure of yourself, but my mind tends to focus on all the doubts and shortcomings I have. When you’re young you have all these plans…when you hit certain ages you’ll have accomplished certain things in your life. The checkmarks aren’t even close to being all checked. But even though I am feeling a bit brokenhearted and distraught around my birthday this year, I do realize that I still have time to accomplish more and go on more adventures. That’s what life is all about, right?

Since it was my birthday this week, Zaara Kohime decided to hold her annual sale this year at this time. She usually does it around her own birthday in June, but wasn’t able to make it this year. I know this nizam jewelry set I’m wearing was released in 2009, but it is still one of my favorite jewel collections on the grid. This and the rest of Zaara’s releases, including all new releases, are 50% off until September 30th. The menswear is in a building to the left of the mainstore and her older items have been discounted and placed in buildings to the right. Hope you have a chance to visit.

Have a great weekend. <3

Happy birthday Strawberry ! At 34 you are coming into your best years so just close your eyes and jump.

  • I will be 58 in December, and I could tell you a few things about unfulfilled dreams, but I do not think of my life that way. I find that I have accomplished much more than I ever thought. I tend to have a younger mind set than in my 20’s. Being, over 50 is liberating, you no longer worry about what others think and you have time for yourself. Enjoy every second you have Miss Berry, for even tho you don’t know it your life touches everyone you have ever come in contact with, and believe me their lives are better for knowing you.
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY….

Mine was Tuesday just gone and I know exactly how you feel, even at 28 I am at a loss with what to do with myself.. I just don’t want to get older. I keep trying to hold onto my inner child as much as I can, as my childhood was nothing to write home about. However I know you will be fine Berry because you’re amazing and still young, young enough to accomplish anything. So go for it! 😀 Have a wonderful birthday my darling. xoxoxoxo

I’m sure you will receive many kind and sweet birthday wishes. Any age has it’s own charming and 34 is a beautiful blossom time for woman. Main is here, what age you feel yourself. Don’t sorrow about anything, life is beautiful no matter how old are you. Just whenever you feel sad or no way to go forward, remember that there are people that need you and want to see you smiling and happy. My best wishes for your birthday. Let it be joyful and full of sun shine 🙂 Hugs
P.S. A little pic that always keep me smiling and help in difficult situations. Pick it up 😉

    Hey,
Love your photos and the realism you bring to SL. We need more people like you who really enrich SL for others.
Having said that, and this is not an attack, have you ever considered that maybe you are spending way too much time in front of your computer in a make believe world? Maybe you need to get out and live in the real world more, I sure you would enrich that as well! Just a thought.

Happy Birthday Berry! Same age same feelings 🙂 Just don’t lose hope. Keep your chin up. Smile. Life was and is never going to be easy.

  • Thank you all for the birthday wishes, I so appreciate them. I am feeling a lot better today, but I think the mood swings definitely come and go, lol. Hopefully this coming year will be a more fulfilling one for me.

Benson, I understand what you’re saying however I never felt that the time I spend in Second Life, as a hobby, really takes away from my real life. I still work, volunteer, spend time with loved ones, travel, explore, etc… my main doubts about my life mostly revolve around my personal relationship/family life more than my professional life. Second Life has also given me so much in the sense of feeling more confident about my abilities, friendships, and of course my blog is a great place for me to share my thoughts. But you may be right, perhaps I shouldn’t bother spending so much time in Second Life. Maybe it’s something I will think about it in this coming year. Thank you for your thoughts.

  • Happy birthday to you for today, O Berried One!

As to the number of years, all I can offer are the wise words of my gran, game (and slightly irresponsible, but irrepressible!) old bird that she was. Her version of the adage, “You’re as young as you feel,” was a bit different: “You’re as young as the man that you feel.”

Glad rags on tonight, lass. Go out and have some fun 😉

Happy Birthday!! I just had my Birthday on the 14th. Honestly I think us Virgos worry too much. So don’t worry you are doing just fine.

  • For better or worse, there’s no telling what’s around the corner. On the love side, my grandmother-in-law found her soul-mate in her seventies, following a long-term shitty marriage. And there are countless people who actually did realize their childhood/teenage dreams in adulthood and then realized that the reality wasn’t what they wanted. So I think you’re right on, appreciating what you have and being open to opportunities and new directions for the future. I only know you through back and forth Twitter chats and blog posts, but I for one really appreciate your unique point of view, photoshop chops and fun conversation. Happy Birthday again, and I wish you a great year. Oh, why be stingy? A great life. 🙂

Happy Birthday! Thank you for your blog. It has made SL much more fun for me.

Happy belated birthday! Mine was just a few days before yours. ^-^ Whenever I’ve felt down about myself, I end up spending a lot of time doing things that are helpful to other people and that just makes everything seem to make more sense. And there are so many people who have told me that everything also makes a lot more sense when you realize that you don’t live forever. Thank you, Strawberry. I’ve learned so much about SL and fashion and life and appreciating beautiful, funny and friendly things from reading your blog. It’s made a difference in how I think about people and myself and I’m sure all your readers feel similarly. Wishing you a beautiful and wonderful year until the next celebration!
