Vogue

This is my third post today. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but I am inspired so I’m taking advantage of it. People often ask me what inspires me. Recently, I have been very inspired by Vogue Magazine, and especially Vogue India. I know my pictures and styling don’t come anywhere close to the ones that can be found in these magazines, but I do get inspired to play around and shoot more when I go through them every month.

I recently got a digital subscription to Vogue India through magzter and have been enjoying it so much. I’m thinking I’m going to switch to digital for Vogue as well when my subscription is up for renewal. Just waiting for an android app to come out.

So what inspires you? Do you get inspired by fashion magazines?

I am wearing the Skinnery skin from Arcade in this post in the mocha tone and it actually matched perfectly with tone 22 from The Shops mesh project body. With the neck fader, there wasn’t even a seam. View the raw shot on my profile.

  • Just beautiful. Mesh bodies don’t seem to have all those ugly bumps and corners reg bodies have. Why can’t SL just make them for the standard body? Afraid to even see how much that would cost cause the skin is many lindens. Plus..trying to navigate their store is insane

  • Hey Carmilla, that’s the whole thing. I wish SL would make a better looking default avatar so we wouldn’t have to go through all this ordeal. It really is a bit of a headache and so time consuming to change outfits and such now. And yes, The Shops don’t make it easier to shop there. Definitely a huge learning curve.

  • Well..I broke down and got the body! Now I have to wait til off work to play with it. Navigation seems to be better..and it helps that have support people online to help. Also many ladies walking around Nekked. 😉

  • LOL yes lots of naked bodies there whenever I go. Congrats on getting the body! Once you figure out their hud stuff, it’s totally worth it.

  • LOL I was wondering! I was like, hmmmm, I always thought her name was Carmilla, hahaha.

  • Inspiration. Hrm. Fashion, yes of course. I check out a lot of the male fashion blogs on Tumblr and elsewhere, as well as a lot of historical costuming, art, and design blogs. But mainly my inspiration comes from simple play. To me, there’s nothing more fun than finding a fabulous item or two and digging through the dress-up box that is my inventory to snag a look together around them.

Windlight, too, plays an enormous part in what I do. I might have one look put together, be paging through Firestorm’s gazillion WL options, and then suddenly one will smack me between the eyes and make me think, “Oh god, I need to change this and add that! And… THIS! And, oh! That thing I got last week! This would be awesome if it was steampunk/goth/gutter rat, instead of vampire/high fashion/emo!”

    So yeah. Playtime. *g*

  • I get inspiration from alot of things, movies, blogs, feelings….i am a morbid sort and find gothic anything an inspiration…for halloween…i am planning a hot blog. I find the colors of gothic, attractive…and since I am more comfortable alone, Gotic anything is my style.

Just wanted you to know Berry..I have learned a lot from your blogs

  • Skell I so agree with you on windlight. I have actually changed complete photoshoots because of the way a certain windlight looked so then I had to change the whole concept because I fell in love with the lighting, crazy.

Crono, fabulous job of recreating her inworld!

Starved, you are so kind. Thank you. I’m glad you find my blog informative. <3
