Murder Mystery

Murder Mystery

A few months back I did a book meme where I talked about books that I love to read. I mentioned a lot of book genres that I’m interested in but one that I failed to mention are murder mysteries. I actually used to be completely addicted to Nancy Drew and Agatha Christie. I have also read many books about serial killers. I also used to read the serial killers section of the crime library almost every day a few years back. I don’t know what that says about me but I find all that stuff rather fascinating. Makes me wonder just how twisted human beings can be.

Anyhow, the reason I brought all this up is because a friend sent me a link on twitter about this new murder mystery game happening in Second Life. Well, it sounds like a murder mystery game anyways, I haven’t played it yet. I plan to play perhaps in a week or so when I settle in with school a bit. The game is called KAGAMI and Quan Lavender explained how she played it in her post on her blog. This is the official website for the game.

Have you guys played the game yet? What’s it like? Do you think I’m a closet serial killer now? Just wondering.

  • If you’re talking about the game in the Cornfield, yes, I’ve played it.

I’ve been murdered several times by the pumpkins and scarecrows.

  • I tried to play it, but I got lost at one point and annoyed with it…so I left.

  • grew up reading Nancy Drew books ~ would stay up late just to finish a chapter … still love murder mystery books James Patterson is one of my faves along with many others…..great post but will pass on lookin at the game inworld

  • I never thought I would be “into” murder mysteries, but I discovered in some great summer reads that I actually enjoy the intrigue – especially if it is written in a well-woven fashion as the suspense builds. I really enjoyed some “lighter” reads by Liane Moriarty this summer. I placed quotation marks around the word “lighter” not because the books are fluff but because there is so much ELSE going on in the storylines. I really had a great time reading these and recommend them, especially for voracious readers like myself who enjoy being so entertained. I so often read non-fiction – but summer is for fun! *giggles hungrily*
Thank you for your post, Berry. I had heard of the new game, but have not explored. I think I’ll take a gander…

I just visited Kagami last night and loved it! It took about an hour to finish it and it’s definitely more fun with a friend.

I haven’t been, but it sounds interesting. Think I will have a look see.

  • Ooh, Kagami is fun, I promise!

  • Great post. I can hopefully play the game with a friend next week (hoping it doesn’t go away too soon)and I am SO LUSTING AFTER YOUR BAG – I may need to go shopping! And I RARELY go shopping for myself LOL.

    Cheers.

  • It’s fun but not a murder mystery. It centers around some Japanese legends.

  • Seems as if everyone that has played it has really enjoyed it. I’m definitely going to try and make time for it soon.

Softpaw, thank you! Sounds even more intriguing now.
