Happy Ramadan!
(raw shot)
It’s that time of the year again where I get cranky and moody while I fast with my loved ones during the daylight hours. Today was the 1st day of the Islamic month of Ramadan and visions of double chocolate cupcakes have been dancing through my head. Although I do have a tough time not being able to eat during the day, I love the feeling of celebration and unity this month brings to my family and the community. Even though I am not a very religious person, I do fast during this month. I spoke more about my feelings and thoughts regarding this month in last year’s Ramadan post.
I did want to let you guys know that for a few weeks, I’m going to put a hold on my Monday memes (unless Edie decides to continue them herself). I had every intention of continuing them once I returned from vacation, however I have a bit of an injury that occurred during vacation (nothing serious) so I’m nursing that, fasting, working on a couple of projects and also trying to catch up with things I’ve missed inworld. Because of all of this, I know I won’t get that much time to sit and plan the memes and then read your responses and I want to make sure I have time to do that because I enjoy seeing your responses to them. So for now, they are on hold, hopefully in August I can bring them back when I have more time to focus. I will continue to blog when I can as taking pictures and writing on the blog is really relaxing for me.
I’m so happy I was able to make time to do a Ramadan pic this year, I wasn’t sure I would get the chance. I really enjoy doing Ramadan and Eid pics every year. You can check out all my previous pics in my Religious & Cultural set on Flickr.
Happy Ramadan! <3

What a lovely post! I love the beautiful photo and the sentiments expressed. I wish you a blessed Ramadan, Berry. Thank you for sharing, and here’s hoping that your injury heals quickly and well…
