International Women’s Day

International Women's Day

Today was International Women’s Day. Every year on March 8th women (and men) celebrate women’s economic, political, and social achievements and encourage respect, appreciation and love towards women worldwide. This day is about empowering and celebrating women.

Days like these always make me wonder and I start all these comparisons between myself and women that have left their marks in history. I wonder if I am as intelligent, courageous, passionate, and strong as most of them were. That, I don’t know, but I do know that even though my name won’t be written in any history books, everything we contribute to the community enriches the lives of all those that it reaches. So I try and stay positive and do my part.

Seraph City

The hair I’m wearing in this post is from Lamb. I purchased this hair back in 2010. Even though this hair is 4 years old, I believe it still holds up. I would love a mesh version of this though!

The poses I used are from Diesel Works. Diesel Works is having a 50% off sale on all packs. He has a great selection of poses for both men and women.

My shoes are from Ane by Anemysk Karu and are currently 50% off in celebration of the opening of the new SLink West sim, where you can find a whole community of stores selling all sorts of appliers and shoes for the SLink mesh feet. SLink West opened its doors today, so if you are addicted to the SLink mesh feet, definitely take the SLurl and check it out.

Speaking of SLink, Siddean has released both mesh heads today. I did pick up DEMOs for both and tried them out. They were well made, however I didn’t feel comfortable in them. I feel like it wasn’t me. I guess I am just very attached to Berry’s face. I know she said she will be releasing more heads in the future so I will definitely keep DEMOing and if there is one that I feel comfortable in, I will absolutely blog it. In the meantime, check out Grazia’s detailed post covering all of the skin appliers that are currently available for these heads, with pricing. A very informative post!

I hope you all had an inspirational Women’s Day. <3

I don’t think we can ever know the full impact of our lives on the lives of others, but I know I’m definitely affected for the better by you. ^.^

“Behind every great man there is an even greater woman” It is one of those things I keep telling myself. We may not be super aggressive in our influence, as we tend to do it in more subtle less blatantly obvious ways.

There are those of us that are more of public figures of course, but I think all of us who break barriers one little bit at a time contribute greatly though we will never be indeed in history books, but can only hope that we make it easier for the next generation of women.
