Friday Find: The Lefevre Mansion

The other day a Facebook friend sent me an invite to like a facebook page, the page was for The Lefevre Mansion. The pictures on the page and links to other blog posts got my attention. There was also a youtube video that told the story behind the mansion, which I thought was very interesting.

The mansion was built by Kaya Angel who is the owner of the Rose Theatre & Angel Manor Estate. Kaya built the Lefevre Mansion for Marcus Lefevre and the Lefevre family. The mansion is open to the public, but I didn’t go inside it as of yet. I did explore the surroundings and they are very lavish.

Weekly Roundup

  1. The Drax Files Radio Hour – show#9: SL GO – I am on today’s show. I was interviewed about SL Go along with some other folks from OnLive with an update on the pricing for this service. They are also giving away a Leap Motion in today’s show.
  2. Fake Twitter account for Second Life – Earlier today a new twitter account popped up claiming to be an “official” second life account. I was skeptical right away because I noticed it wasn’t following any of the already established official Second Life twitter accounts (@SecondLife & @LindenLab). So I tagged the official accounts in a tweet and asked about its validity and it was confirmed by Linden Lab that this account is actually fake. So if you’re following it, you should probably unfollow because the more legitimate Second Life twitter accounts follow that one, the more it looks official. Inara Pey also blogged about this and made some good points regarding Linden Lab getting verified twitter accounts.
  3. SLink Visage Mesh Head – Remember about a month ago when Siddean Munro teased us about an upcoming product? Well today is the day it’s finally being released and yes you guessed it, it is a mesh head. For those of you that are interested in trying a DEMO, the release date on her flickr and youtube states March 7th and I have heard it will be at midnight tonight so here is the SLurl to SLink in case you want to stalk the store.

  4. John Krasinski on Conan O’Brien February 2012 – You guys ever go on youtube to watch one video and then instead of spending just 3 minutes watching that video, you get into this never-ending clicking cycle and the next thing you know it’s an hour later and you’re watching a drag queen makeup tutorial? No? I’m the only one that does that? Ok well, it was one of those days but this time I ended up on this old video from Conan and I cannot tell you how hard I laughed and for how long. I was in tears. Not sure why I found this so funny but I do think both John and Conan are absolutely hilarious and they way they describe the reactions of their loved ones in this video literally had me LOLing and I believe I watched the video ten times.

If you ever have any suggestions for a Friday Find, feel free to email me with it. Have a great week! <3

  • I stumbled over The Lefevre Mansion this week and decided to tiptoe in. No butler greeted me at the door but that was the only disappointment . What an absolutely gorgeous place to visit. Every detail spoke of opulence and lived in luxury. What a fantastic place to visit thank you to the vision of the creator of this setting, and to the owner/s for sharing a glimpse of your SL home with everyone.

  • My niece found the Lefevre Mansion on a trip around the grid looking for a special spot for a wedding. She is enchanted – and so am I. It’s elegant and opulent and I love that chapel! We don’t know if they’ll tie the knot in SL or not (they were married a year ago last autumn IRL in a charming English countryside setting), but if they do, this place is definitely on the list.
All that aside, the Lefevre Mansion is a beautiful place. I can imagine going there again. The beach area is stunning for natural beauty and the buildings are gorgeous. What a find!
