Friday Find: Isla Okiddo

A few months ago, Liara Okiddo (kemicq) contacted me regarding an art gallery that she was working on. It was going to be a little bit different and she requested some of my work to display there along with many other talented Second Life artists.

When I went to visit earlier today, I was mesmerized. It definitely is one of the most unusual art expos I’ve seen at a very interesting and exotic location. The art is intertwined with the look and decor of the sim. She’s blended it all in beautifully and it is definitely a site to see. When you land you will follow a pathway which splits and one will lead you underwater. You will walk underwater and be amazed at all you see and as you walk out from the water you will see the art, everywhere. There is a lot to explore on this sim, so take your time to take it all in.

Weekly Roundup

1. The Drax Files Radio Hour show #8: the BIG picture – I found this show to be a fascinating one, especially the part where Drax chatted with an outsider, a non-sler, in the real world and got her views about what she thinks about Second Life and virtual worlds. Very interesting discussion for sure.
2. The Drax Files: World Makers [ Episode 17: Zachh Barkley] – So happy that Drax still does his original video series as I feel it’s a very powerful one. This time he features Zachh Barkley and his magic in Second Life. I wasn’t familiar with him so it was fun learning about what he does in SL. Definitely check it out, embedding it as well:
   
3. #SLLooksGoodToday – So this week’s weekly roundup is all about Draxtor, lol. I really wanted to share this because I thought it was a great idea and I intend to participate in this whenever I can/remember to. Drax is trying to establish a new hashtag on twitter (#SLLooksGoodToday) and basically it’s to share cool, new, updated images of Second Life. So if you’d like to participate, it would be great to see some updated avatars doing cool things in Second Life. Don’t forget to add the #SecondLife hashtag to your tweet as well. I hope we can get this established and trending!
