Zombie Bride

ZombieBride

This is going to be one of those posts where I talk about a variety of different topics and try to squish lots of information into your brains until they explode and then since I’m a Zombie I guess I’ll be eating them. So here we go, buckle your seat belt, it might get a little rough.

Second Life’s Fa-BOO-lous Snapshot Contest

I actually entered the contest! I’ve been wracking my brain trying to think of something to do and then I decided I really liked this look so did a separate closeup for this contest, you can see my entry at this link. The rest of the entries can be found here. The contest ends November 8th and the voting starts after that, so I hope you guys take a moment to vote for me, or whichever pic you like, when it’s time to vote. Here are the official rules to the contest in case you want to enter as well.

New SecondLife Subreddit

I was so happy when Trinity Dejavu messaged me and told me that she is starting a new subreddit for Second Life. You see, there is already a subreddit for Second Life, but every time I tried to participate there, I didn’t feel very welcomed. All of my posts, even if they were links or discussions or commentary were always downvoted a lot. It was rather discouraging as it’s a pretty big community but it’s hard to get into. I did keep trying from time to time though, cuz I’m persistent. Anyhow, I am happy that there is a new reddit that is much more welcoming and lets you share posts and links to all things sl-related. It’s only been active one day so far and we’ve already got quite a bit of chatter there. So if you are a regular redditor, or even if you’re not, I hope you create an account and then hit that subscribe button on the page and join us.  I love this initial stage of growth when everyone is having fun getting to know each other, it’s the best time to join a community!

Redgrave’s Wedding Zombie Special

Redgrave has a special Zombie bride for only L$99 on marketplace right now. I really liked the dress so I mixed it up with some of my fav skins, tattoos and hair from other designers. The dress is mesh and has blood stains all over, totally love it, especially for only L$99! I noticed that it’s also materials-ready!

Haunted Path

The Haunted Paths

I’m kind of sort of in love with this sim. I shot these pictures there last night right before going to bed, and let me tell you, I was totally creeped out. It’s so well done in so many ways. But I think what got me the most are the sound affects. There are all sorts of spooky scary voices and noises as you walk around. I found it because someone shared pictures of it in the Explore Second Life flickr group. I just want to take a moment to thank Peep and Zee for helping me moderate the group and also for everyone that shares their gorgeous pictures. I have so found so many wonderful places to explore from that group now, it has become invaluable to me. Thank you so much, all of you! <3

Horrorfest 2013

I’m a little late to the party with this as Horrorfest started almost two weeks ago, but you still have about a week to check it out. Loads of designers are participating and the proceeds are going to the Epilepsy Therapy Project. The skin I’m wearing is by Glam Affair and can be found at Horrorfest right now, so take the SLurl and go shopping for a good cause!

  • Hmmm. My Canadian friends are in a dither over the Snapshot contest… they want to enter… but we have just been reading the entry rules and came across 3.A.4: “Canadian residents will be required to answer an additional mathematical question in order to claim their prizes).”
    Tests make everyone so nervous!

  • I’m so thankful you started the Explore Second Life Flickr group, Berry, and I’m more than happy to help moderate it (since you showed me how lol). Sadly, I have recently removed a lot of gorgeous photos because they didn’t follow the simple rule of including the SLURL in the description or a linked blog post.

For anyone posting photos to this group, please remember to include this. We all want to be able to visit the places where you have shot your stunning photos!

  • Hey Bay, apparently they’re just complying with a law regarding sweepstakes in Canada:

“Canadian sweepstakes law, unlike American law, requires that the third component, “winners are chosen by luck,” is removed. Sponsors cannot use pure luck to determine who wins a sweepstake. There must be at least some element of skill involved.
In order remove the element of pure chance, sponsors narrow the field of potential winners by requiring a skill testing question to enter their contests. Every entrant does not have the same chance to win; only those who at least pass the skill testing question are eligible to win prizes. Of course, this is only a technicality. Most people can pass the skill testing questions without difficulty, although sponsors are required to make the test somewhat challenging.”
