White Gold and Sapphire

White Gold and Sapphire

So the title of today’s post is a bit of an inside joke with me and my plurk timeline. If you’re on there and know it you’re probably shaking your head and laughing at me right now. If you’re not on there and don’t get the joke, consider yourself lucky. 😛

In other news (and the main reason for this picture) Glam Affair has finally released SLink appliers for both hands and feet. I am so incredibly happy about this, you have no idea. All of my favorite skins have appliers out now and my life is so much easier. There’s just one more skin that I would love to have appliers for and that is Glance!

If you are a skin designer, please take a look at the Slink Avatar Enhancement System’s Developer’s page and ask Siddean Munro for a kit. You will make your customers so happy!

I’m also loving all the nails people have been making with this kit. The ones I’m wearing in this picture are actually free from League. They are so well done, I love them. She made them both for hands and feet and they are absolutely free!

Finally, I wanted to give a big thank you to my friend, Mr. Ghosty Kips, for sharing a really important debug setting with me this morning that I found very useful. The setting is windlightUseAtmosShaders. Have you guys ever had the missing prim issue where parts of your jewelry and/or clothing may be missing and you need to keep right clicking on it or relog to make it appear? Well, if you set this setting as true, that should fix the problem. Here’s a link to the picture he shared with me where he shows you how to add this setting to your quick preferences in Firestorm. You can then easily toggle it whenever you have the missing prim issue. The following picture is mine from the official viewer that I use:

This helped me rez my ring properly and hopefully it’ll help you guys out too so I thought I’d share it.

I so happy with those new appliers of Glam Affair, the shades and highlights are absolutly perfect on it … and i love this picture, the art of teasing with actually showing nothing 😉

  • Ghosty Kips

Just a note – *toggling* the debug setting is what will do it for you; most folks with decent video cards will have the setting already on.

Nice … erm, photo btw. O.O

  • ” There’s just one more skin that I would love to have appliers for and that is Glance! ”

In the most recent version of Firestorm, if you add the phototools button to the bottom bar, which allows quick access to all preferences that might impact photography, Enable Atmospheric Shaders is already there, no need to add anything.

  • I love the “head” shot of the photo for sure. Your face is beautiful and everything works amazing together.

I have 10000 inventory items missing in Firestorm. I have worked through all the suggestions in the Phoenix Wiki to no avail I will try this next. Thanks for the post. Oddly enough all the missing items are in my inviee if I use the SL viewer but today that freezes every time I try to log on. Sighs. You can’t win

  • Beautiful Photo!!

Absolutely gorgeous pose set, Strawberry!! I love it to pieces!! And thank you so much for the debug setting hints 🙂

  • Thank you so much everyone! <3

Aelthing Aeon, actually this setting is not for getting missing inventory items back, it's for being able to see prims inworld.

  • zzpearlbottom

Can’t stop laughing, Niran has this option on its viewer for ages!
Ansd yes toggling in and out it will show the missing prims but will not fix the bug, that only Ll can do!

This trick, while certainly helpful for some users, will likely not fix the problem for others who, like me, already had that setting on and still have the problem, both for worn prims and rezzed ones.

For those of us who don’t, however, there’s yet another trick that, at least for me, works pretty well: use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + R to briefly enter ‘wireframe’ mode, then again to switch back to normal viewing mode. Voilà, all missing prims appear.

Note: I’ve find it useful to wait a few seconds after TPing to a new place (which is when the missing prims thing almost invariably happens), before using this wireframe trick… if you do it instantly, chances are some prims won’t appear just because you didn’t actually give your viewer enough time to load them, not because they were affected by this widespread missing prims bug 😉

  • Thank you so much for sharing the information on the debug setting. This has made my SL so much easier. 🙂

  • Landaree Levee thank you for sharing that tip. I will definitely try that out as well next time it happens to me again. I never even thought going into wireframe would work!

  • This attracts me from the first look. It’s a wonderful art work!
