The Sandbox – SL8B Issue
The Sandbox is the official Second Life® newsletter, which is sent monthly to all residents of SL™ via email. For the month of June there is a “Second Life 8th Birthday Party” theme.
Last month, I was contacted by the very sweet Gabrielle Linden to do the “Look of the Month” for this special birthday issue. I was requested to style a party look using balloons and hats and all. I was totally excited to be asked to do this!
Well I had done my look and then kind of forgot about it until just a bit ago when a friend messaged me and said “congrats I just saw you on Look of the Month!”
For some reason I haven’t received the email yet myself but luckily it is available to view on the web so I got to see it! The pictures you see here are just screenshots of the newsletter because I wanted to keep a copy of it for myself. If you haven’t received the newsletter as of yet either, check it out on the web at this link. All the style credits are listed and linked to each item on the marketplace. 
On June 23rd Second Life turns 8 years old and although I only discovered SL about 4 years ago, it has enriched my life so much. I feel very fortunate and thankful for everything that has happened in my SL and all the wonderful people that I have met and learned from. SL has done so much for me and I’m very happy to be a part of this wonderful community.

Congrats! You definitely look like you are in a celebratory mood *wink*. Amazingly enough I have never received this newsletter and a quick check with friends left us all puzzled. So maybe it is “new”?
Good you found it online so those of us not on the list get to see :D. It was fun flying around over there. Lots to see for sure.

Chic, I actually received the newsletter sporadically starting from last September 2010. I didn’t know it was a monthly thing because I think I only received about 6 of them since then, if that. I still haven’t gotten this one sent to my email either, luckily my friend forwarded it to me and there was a link for the online version.
The unfortunate part about it is that Gabrielle Linden just told me that this was the last newsletter they’ll be doing. It’s a shame because I thought it was really well done and a cute way to reach out, as well as inform, the community.
Oh well, at least I got to be a part of it before it ended. Thanks again! <3
