Exploring Second Life™
I took ManBerry for a walk in Old Italy today. People always ask me where I find the sims I shoot at so I thought I would share some of my secrets:
- Mademoiselle Eve’s blog – It’s in French so I admit to not really reading the content but I do drool over her creative pictures and steal the slurls she always lists at the end of her posts. She finds the most amazing places.
- Avatars in Motion – A Travel Blog! You rarely see any avatars in this blog, but what you will see are gorgeous images of some of the best places to explore in Second Life.
- The Beauty of SL – Another great travel blog with beautiful pictures.
- Cajsa Lilliehook’s Landmarks in a Notecard – The generous Cajsa Lilliehook has shared a wonderfully organized notecard of landmarks which can be picked up at this slurl.
- SecondLife Art & Entertainment – A great blog run by a bunch of very talented individuals who also have a group inworld by the name of Just Art.
- Honour McMillan’s blog – Another wonderful and very thoughtful travel blog which I also enjoy. Honour is also currently working on a project for SL8B and has asked for our help, all the details in this post.
- Places on Koinup – GeoTagging the Metaverse – The Places Project is a collection of slurls and locations posted daily by Koinup members.
Now here are a list of different flickr groups where you can share your SL travel pictures.
- SL Tourist Board – slurls should be in the description of the images
- SecondLife Travels – slurls should be in the description of the images
- SL Photographer’s Heaven – Sims/Places where you can REZ!
I hope you find the above links as useful as I do. Happy exploring! <3 Credits: *Skin: Belleza by Iki Ikarus *Hair: Truth by Truth Hawks *Suit: Aoharu by Machang Pichot *Shoes: Anexx by Machang Pichot *Pose: oOo Studio by Olaenka Chesnokov (Male suit poses coming soon) *Promotional copies
I hope you know how much everyone appreciates the posts you do on your blog Berry. Always so informative! Thank you! <3 I am adding all of these to my reader. <3
Thanks for the kind mention and the ideas. Some were new to me and I always like plces to get ideas. I thought I might recommend another travel blog that I enjoy. It’s from Honour McMillan http://honour-mcmillan.blogspot.com/
There’s also several flickr groups, the largest being, I think, the SL Tourist Board http://www.flickr.com/groups/sl_touristboard/pool/ or SL Travels http://www.flickr.com/groups/14341151@N00/pool/with/5067891743/
I can’t believe I forgot Honour’s blog (doh) Thank you Cajsa for reminding me and I also wanted to mention her SL8B project, lemme add that now. And will also add the flickr groups which I also use but for some reason forgot to mention. I think I need more coffee today.
Thanks again to both of you. <3

I also strongly recommend Dorka Caminante’s blog (http://dorkacaminante.blogspot.com/). It’s been around forever and features beautiful spots to explore in SL — that’s how I usually find new places to take pictures.

Thank you for your terrific and very informative post, Strawberry! I’ve traveled extensively throughout Second Life’s grid and am always happy to learn about more interesting, exciting places to explore. My adventure travels have resulted in numerous photography exhibits inworld, books written and posted online for free reading at http://www.issuu.com/dahliasweet, and also on my blog at dahliasweet.blogspot.com. Everyone is welcome to read, comment, and share information with me so I can continue to enjoy the incredible diversity that Second Life has to offer!
Hello Berry! Just an update to say that my blog URL has changed since my comment above. It is now http://www.dahliajayaram.blogspot.com
