This gorgeous mermaid outfit was given to me on my rezday by a dear friend. I’m absolutely in love with it so I had to take some pictures. I’ve been pretty much wearing this the whole week and having a lot of fun shooting at this stunning location.

The lovely Garvie Garzo of meadowWorks gave me a little sneak peek of the new location for the meadowWorks store which will be open on May 24th. It’s absolutely beautiful, my pictures do not do it justice. It’s like a magical underwater city. MeadowWorks will also be having an amazing release at The Home and Garden Expo (RFL event) around the same time.

I feel like I really failed at this week’s SL DisneyBound challenge because I had all these ideas and I was going to use ManBerry and was going to dress him up as Aladdin, etc… but I’m currently going through a number of projects at the moment that I just haven’t had time. In fact, I am squeezing this quick picture in because well, I really really really wanna do this challenge.

This picture kind of represents my life right now. I feel like I’ve gone through (and still going through) a lot of changes and I’m seeing the world a bit differently. To make this post sound even cheesier, it’s like “a whole new world” to me and lately my life has been nothing short of magical.

Tomorrow is my 6th rezday and I’ve been planning a special post for it for about a month now, but it’s not exactly turning out how I planned it in my head. I’m going to try and squeeze time in today and see what I end up with for tomorrow. It’s been quite a journey and I feel like I’ve learned and grown a lot.

So you’re walking along the beach, kicking at the sand and you notice a magic lamp hidden under a rock. You pull it out and rub it, because what else would you do with a magic lamp? Out pops a genie and is ready to grant you three wishes, any three wishes to do with your SLife.

1. I wish Second Life didn’t have such a bad reputation. I admit to feeling pretty ashamed at times about admitting that I’m on Second Life. Very few of my closest family and friends know that I have an SL avatar and only a handful know about my blog and all the activities I do here. I haven’t even told my parents about it. I hate having to feel that it’s something I should be ashamed of or I need to hide because I don’t want everyone to think I’m some kind of pervert (even though I kind of am) and only here for the sex and porn (even though that may be partially true). I recently started a relationship in real life and I can see it getting serious eventually and I admit I am dreading telling him anything about my virtual life. I’m not even sure how I’ll approach the subject. So yeah, I wish whenever there was any kind of new documentary about SL they didn’t always focus on people making sex furniture or making it seem like sex is all there is to SL. I wish Linden Lab would think of a better marketing scheme to promote this virtual world. I would love it if people saw the more creative and inventive side of SL. Kind of like what Draxtor Despres shows in The Drax Files.
2. I wish I had more talent and could create things in this world. I really want to be able to make a custom skin for myself or perhaps a cute summery mesh dress. And sometimes I get really jealous of people (*cough*Zaara*cough*) when they create these totally amazing things that are just perfection and all I wanna do is kick their ass, just joking! (not really) At least I get to wear it and look pretty though? But all joking aside, I do sometimes wish I could create my own custom skin and it would be wicked and I could totally look like Lakshmi Menon.
3. I wish the SL viewer was more stable. I guess this really depends on your computer as well, but sometimes it’s so difficult to even stay logged in. Over the years I have upgraded my computer a few times, I’ve tried several different kinds of viewers, the officials, third party, etc… but I have never been completely satisfied with one viewer. There has always been some kind of glitch or crashing or some other technical issue. Then when all of that is not happening we have rolling restarts that stalk me to every sim I go to and lag issues and so on and so forth. I don’t complain much about it though and I understand technical issues can be a pain to sort out and everyone will have a different experience with each viewer because of their system setup but how I do wish there was one magical viewer out there that would always work perfectly, would never make me crash and give me awesome shadows with no glitches at really high resolutions!

So these are my top three wishes in Second Life. I do have lots more but the genie only let us have three so no cheating! Just joking, you can share more than three if you like, I won’t even judge you for it! (maybe)

The talented Natalee Oodles of Style Minions has been holding an ongoing blogger challenge for about 6 weeks now called Disneybound. You can learn more about the challenge from her first initial post introducing it. Every week I have been watching in awe as so many have been styling themselves up resembling Disney characters. I have been aching to participate but I haven’t had the time. But this week is Merida of Brave and I absolutely could not resist.

Merida is one of my most favorite Disney characters. Unlike the other Disney Princesses that usually need a man to “save the day;” Merida is a fiery, independent and brave girl who can take care of herself! I absolutely adored this movie and the relationship between the mother and daughter was especially touching.

I’m so happy I got the opportunity to participate in Natalee’s challenge this week. I am going to try and join in whenever I can. If you’d like to join, check out her Disneybound tag to see all of the ones she’s done so far and you can also join the flickr group.

I decided to take my images at the beautiful Straylight sim. It had been a while since I had visited there. It’s definitely one of my most favorite places on the grid.

Whenever I participate in a challenge that is run by another blogger, I put that post in my challenges category. Due to lack of time, I don’t get the opportunity to do them often. Hopefully I’ll be able to make time to participate in more. I really had a lot of fun with this one! Hope you guys participate as well. I’d love to see more Meridas!

The day we’ve all been patiently waiting for has finally arrived. Siddean Munro of SLink has released her Avatar Enhancement system. This is an update to the SLink mesh hands and mesh feet. So if you have previously purchased these, you just need to head down to the SLink mainstore and hit the redelivery terminal for your update. Once you’ve picked up the update, check out the customer support page to see which of your favorite skin designers have picked up a developers kit and have created a HUD with their own textures to match their skin lines.

I am wearing my Zoe skin from Tuli in petal tone. The red nails are from the nail pack created by Sachi Vixen of Adam n Eve. Sachi has also created some gorgeous pantyhose for the feet. I am excited to see what other fun accessories designers are going to create with this!

If you click on the raw shot links underneath both images, you’ll see that it matches so well, especially my hands. I just noticed a very slight seam on my right foot, which is only visible in certain lighting. It was very simple to use as well. I first wore my mesh hands and feet. Then I attached my Tuli HUD for my skin tone, pressed one button and voila, perfect match! What I love about Tuli’s is that she has also created the beautiful henna designs as an option, so I just had to bust out my Zaara nizam jewels to show off the pretty henna. I then attached the Adam n Eve nail hud and clicked one button and I got the gorgeous nail design. It’s really such a simple system!

It was just released a few hours ago so I’m hoping more skin designers will have their HUDs ready soon. Rumor has it that Aida Ewing of Glam Affair has a developers kit in her possession as well. I am anxiously waiting for Glam Affair to get in on the action! Skin designers, please check out the Developers Page and contact Siddean for the kit. We need you guys to do this for us, please. It makes life so much easier! :D Also, Check out Sasy’s post for more detailed information and pictures!
