Beta Viewer – 4000×2142

So I did this post really quickly as you can see since I’m not even wearing my dress properly. (I’m just going to be over here crying in the corner). I realized after I took the quick snaps that I am wearing the corset under the skirt and well, let’s just pretend that never happened, ok? Deal.

Now, if you don’t have Ms. Inara Pey’s informative blog in your readers, you really should add it now. I always read hers and Nalates for all the latest technological news in Second Life. Well this morning I read her post about the Beta viewer 3.4.3.267755 which was released on December 5th, 2012, you can click over to her blog for all the details but basically she said that the gridlines (tiling) issue that has plagued the majority of SL bloggers and photographers has been fixed.

I quickly left a comment in her post professing my love to her (how could I not?) and then immediately downloaded the latest beta viewer. I decided to really test it out by running two viewers at once using my alt once again. I quickly threw on a fancy dress and totally wore it wrong. Then I headed down to a very elaborate sim that can be quite laggy at times and snapped both of these raw shots.

So here’s the issue. I normally take all of my pictures at 5760×3084, which is exactly 3 times my screen resolution. However, I noticed when I tried to do that, I got that bar on the side. In fact, if I took an image above 4000 width, then it just wouldn’t work. However, at 4000, you can see it is spotless without any gridlines.

I dragged the boy alt over to the Mens Department yesterday to pick up some more clothing because he desperately needs them. There’s a great selection this month, lots of meshy goodness and not just all clothing! Click over to Seraphim to check out the whole selection.

Once I got him all clothed, I figured I’d get myself all decked out too and pose with him. A lot of the accessories on both of us are at the Arcade right now. Today’s male fashion post is about one of my most favorite ginger haired men on the grid. I first noticed Mr. Ganymedes Costagravas a while back on flickr. I always thought he had tremendous artistic ability and incredible building skills. Last year I was fortunate enough to have a chance to take a pic of his house that he had built on the Ursa Major sim before he took it down.

I find his av fascinating and his sense of style just completely different and daring. I love that he enjoys taking chances but always manages to look well put together. These days he is not building much, but enjoys collecting trinkets from all over.

While I was snapping away, I asked him what he liked to do on SL and also what he liked most about it. He answered that it was definitely building, but he doesn’t really do much of that anymore. He is an explorer at heart and loves traveling the grid and discovering the creativeness of others. At the same time he also loves to get creative on his own with styling and adores scrambling together decoratives.

I have to admit, I’ve been really enjoying doing these male fashion posts and getting to know my victims subjects more closely. I’m going to try and do more every week. :)

I remember the first time I met Mr. Page I was at the Zaara store. I was just standing there minding my own business when he immed me out of the blue and stated that Zaara has asked for ME to stop loitering in her store. I was like “EXCUSE ME!??!!!” LOL

It seems every time I open a plurk to read, I see one of Mr. Page’s bratty comments in there. He’s quite the charmer and very quick witted, always has the answer to everything and can make you laugh till you pee your pants.

So when I was taking these pictures I kinda thought I would bug him a little bit to give him a taste of his own medicine. I started all sweet and nice but then I just went into attack mode. It was quite fun! :D

StrawberrySingh: So tell me Mr. Page, what draws you to Second Life?

Oscar Page: Winter’s mom.

Oscar Page: LOL yesssssssssssss

StrawberrySingh: I noticed you’re really into the RL fashion scene too. You work in that field?

Oscar Page: I do, indirectly. My work involves databases and information, but all of the information is about models, art directors, hair & makeup artists, fashion stylists, locations for photoshoots, etc.

StrawberrySingh: So which designers are your favs in RL and/or SL?

Oscar Page: Oooo tough one. I can’t really say any one particular SL designer because with menswear it’s so bits and pieces from all over the place. I would say the two SL designers that seem to have consistency and a somewhat constant flow of releasing quality items would be Shiki Designs and Sartoria. In terms of RL… I love Band of Outsiders, Iceberg, Dsquared2, D&G + Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry Prorsum, and others that I can’t think of off the top of my head.

StrawberrySingh: So why are you always a brat? Every plurk I ever open, you are always saying something bratty. WHY IS THAT??

Oscar Page: Because if I was a pushover with bunnies and kittens it would be way less fun.

StrawberrySingh: Do you prefer chocolate or peanut butter?

Oscar Page: both… frozen dark chocolate reese’s peanut butter cups are overflowingly full of win.

StrawberrySingh: Pepsi or Coke?

StrawberrySingh: Do you have a deep dark secret? Don’t lie, I can read yer mind.

Oscar Page: I sometimes wish I had one, but really I put most of it out there.

At times I feel very privileged to have such wonderful friends, even if I feel I don’t deserve them. I’m quite anti-social and a hermit so not the most engaging friend at times. But I still appreciate the few that have stuck around and learned to deal with my mood swings and encourage me to be a better person.

Mr. Chaddi Masala is also one of those friends that has been there for me even when I threaten him and call him names. Well can you blame me? Do you know what his name is? In my language, chaddi means underwear and masala means spice. When I first read his name I was like ewwwwww. I remember the first day I was telling him about the cool indian club I hung out at when I was a newb. He asked me where it was so I gave him the lm and said, “Ok, but don’t you DARE tell people you know me! I don’t want to be associated with someone named SPICY UNDERWEAR!!” And of course the brat that he is, the first thing he did was go to the club when it was packed with all my friends and announce, “Hey guys, I’m Berry’s friend.”

So I was hanging out with Mr. Spicy a few days ago and I really liked what he was wearing. He always brings out these really cool avatars and outfits that totally blow me away. I am still in love with his samurai outfit. This outfit is called “Death’s Master” and I thought it was very well textured and would be great for rping. I had to take a shot of him in it with his emo eyeliner on. LOL Totally loved the whole look and of course he happily obliged.

That’s what friends are for. They’re there for you when you need them and put up with all your crazy mood swings and crankiness. This love Thursday I am thankful for all my friends – Zaara, Cat, Sean, Chad, Sawyer, Winter, Elu, bishes (you know who you are) and everyone I chat with on plurk. Although I don’t get the chance to read all your plurks or respond to them, you guys always manage to make me laugh and smile, even when I’m being cranky and ranty. <3
