FaMESHed is turning one this month. No doubt it is one of my most favorite events. Every month Fameshed brings you some of the grid’s top mesh content creators with original mesh designs.

For their first birthday they have invited back all of the designers that have participated in FaMESHed this past year. So you will find over 50 designers under two beautiful tents with all original mesh content.

Basilique is an adult-oriented members-only club in Second Life. But it’s more than just a club, it has a lot to offer with a lot of different activities. The setting is of an European town. I am standing in the main open area since you need to be a member to get into the bathhouse or watch the burlesque shows. I was given a bit of a sneak peek and you can also get a free guest pass for one week to check it all out. It’s very well done and definitely a stylish place to hang out. I hear currently they are showing a 90 minute production of Romeo and Juliet. You can keep an eye on Canary Beck’s blog for all of the details.

My skin, top and poses are all from Zodiac Taurus this month. Taurus is the sign of the bull. The bull is a symbol of strength, tenacity, virility, and power. There is a pretty awesome selection of items this month so grab the slurl and head on down there. I’m especially in love with this skin. I think it kind of makes me look exotic, what do you guys think?

When a tall and handsome man (that you secretly fangirl over) asks you to pose with him, you definitely make the time to do so. It’s no secret that Carthalis is one of my most favorite male bloggers. I swoon and drool over his images at every new post. But what I love about him the most is that he’s not afraid to completely change his avatar and try all sorts of new things.

I think he looks incredibly handsome in this new outfit from Diram. When I saw him, he looked just like a Raja, and of course I was more than happy to be his Rani for the day.

I decided to go with the Sabah Kaftan from Bilo. It’s 100% original, rigged mesh and available in many colors. I think the colors and prints on both of our outfits complimented each other well.

Cajsa Lilliehook recently put one of her light projectors on marketplace for a bargain price of L$50. She had done a tutorial before about creating your own projectors, but I am so bad at that kind of stuff, I can barely even rez a box. So when I saw that she put it up on marketplace, I quickly picked one up.

It’s fun but can be a bit tricky, so here’s a few steps that might help you out before you rez and start playing with it.

1. Make sure you have your shadows enabled and your local lights on. You’ll find that all in your graphics settings (Me > Preferences > Graphics)
2. Make sure your background is not full-bright so you can see the shadows once you have the projector rezzed and running.
3. The projector is transparent so I checked highlight transparencies before I rezzed it so I could see it properly (Advanced > Highlighting and Visibility > Highlight Transparent)
4. I rezzed and positioned the projector so the light was shining on me, however I felt the light was a bit too strong so I edited the projector, then checked edit linked, and clicked on each piece of the projector separately while playing with some of the settings in the “features” tab. In this tab I reduced the intensity a bit, and played around with Fall-off and FOV. You can play with it till you get it to your desired lighting, it’s so versatile!
5. This works best in a darker windlight, so make sure to set yours at midnight to see it well. For this picture, I used my Onyx setting that can be downloaded from my windlight settings page, it’s in the 10 pack of settings.
6. Before you start clicking pictures, remember to go back and uncheck highlight transparencies and then click away! (Advanced > Highlighting and Visibility > Highlight Transparent)

That’s about all you have to do and you can create some very dramatic lighting, plus it’s fun to experiment with! Cajsa has a great little notecard that comes with the purchase that has all of the information on it as well.

This month Zodiac focuses their attention on Aries. Aries is symbolized by the ram. The ram has come to represent attitude and courage. Aries natives are said to be leaders and are thought to approach life head-on. You can check out the Seraphim blog to see all that’s available at Zodiac this month.

I’m wearing the gorgeous Aries skin by Essences and the fairest of them all necklace by House of London. And my personal favorite, I’m using the confident Aries poses from Exposeur. I decided to complete my outfit with my sexy leather pants from Erratic. Erratic has recently moved their mainstore location and are having a 50% off sale on everything in the store. If you’ve never been to Erratic, you must go now and check out all their gorgeous mesh items.

I wanted to go with a heavy eyelash with this look, but the hair I’m wearing was messing with my mesh lashes. So I decided to wear my tattoo lashes that I recently put up in my marketplace store. About two years ago I was goofing around in photoshop and created some tattoo lashes which I sent to my group inworld. Since then, from time to time, people would IM and ask me for them. I have long since deleted those ones now (I didn’t really like them). However I still kept getting requests so I made up five new ones for fun and put them up last week. You’ll find them at this link. I wear them underneath my mesh lashes for a fuller look sometimes as well. If you try them out, let me know what you think!

Finally, I wanted to bring up something that happened recently to a content creator, which I was pretty shocked to hear. Lilith Heart was recently banned from SL for 24 hours with no explanation whatsoever. I asked my friends on plurk if anything like that ever happened to them and they all responded with more of their own horror stories about being banned with no explanations. This whole thing has kind of freaked me out and I wonder how often does this happen to people? Has it ever happened to you? It’s never happened to me, but the thought of it is kind of scary.
