Today I thought it would be a fun idea to do a meme where everyone can share a bit of their talents.

Meme instructions: Blog a tutorial and teach me something that you think I might not know about (even if I do, doesn’t matter, do it anyways). The tutorial can be something within Second Life (how to build, create tattoos or clothes, pick up guys at info hubs, tie your virtual shoelaces, whatever…) or something in Photoshop or on any social network (just focus on something sl-related somehow). Make it informative, make it hilarious, make it whatever you like! I’d just love to learn something from you that you may be good at and are willing to share. Remember to leave your link in this meme’s post so others can come by and learn too!

I decided to teach you guys how to create animated gifs using photoshop that you can use in your blog posts or on plurk.

I did a video tutorial, but you guys totally don’t have to do that for your tutorials, you can just write out the steps. I’m going to try and do that myself below as well. This is the link to the video: http://youtu.be/fQ_suHnRnWk

Steps to Creating Animated GIFs using Photoshop CS5

1. Create a new document and put each frame of the animation on a different layer.
2. Open the Animation window, by going to the Window menu and then choose Animation.
3. Modify each frame as desired, if needed.
4. Select the delay time for each frame.
5. Save your GIF. From the File menu, choose “Save for Web and Devices” and choose GIF from the drop-down menu. Select Preset GIF 128 Dithered and hit save.

Please note that animated gifs do not work on Flickr, so I had to upload this week’s picture to my blog itself, I usually host my blog pics on flickr. So that’s my meme and tutorial for today. You can find more of my tutorials on my Tutorials page.

The day we’ve all been patiently waiting for has finally arrived. Siddean Munro of SLink has released her Avatar Enhancement system. This is an update to the SLink mesh hands and mesh feet. So if you have previously purchased these, you just need to head down to the SLink mainstore and hit the redelivery terminal for your update. Once you’ve picked up the update, check out the customer support page to see which of your favorite skin designers have picked up a developers kit and have created a HUD with their own textures to match their skin lines.

I am wearing my Zoe skin from Tuli in petal tone. The red nails are from the nail pack created by Sachi Vixen of Adam n Eve. Sachi has also created some gorgeous pantyhose for the feet. I am excited to see what other fun accessories designers are going to create with this!

If you click on the raw shot links underneath both images, you’ll see that it matches so well, especially my hands. I just noticed a very slight seam on my right foot, which is only visible in certain lighting. It was very simple to use as well. I first wore my mesh hands and feet. Then I attached my Tuli HUD for my skin tone, pressed one button and voila, perfect match! What I love about Tuli’s is that she has also created the beautiful henna designs as an option, so I just had to bust out my Zaara nizam jewels to show off the pretty henna. I then attached the Adam n Eve nail hud and clicked one button and I got the gorgeous nail design. It’s really such a simple system!

It was just released a few hours ago so I’m hoping more skin designers will have their HUDs ready soon. Rumor has it that Aida Ewing of Glam Affair has a developers kit in her possession as well. I am anxiously waiting for Glam Affair to get in on the action! Skin designers, please check out the Developers Page and contact Siddean for the kit. We need you guys to do this for us, please. Are you ready for some fun and adventure? Global Domination is an event by the Hottie Cooterati team and it will be an extravagant adventure! It all starts tomorrow on Valentine’s day and will run through till the 28th of February. However, Global Domination is more than your standard shopping event or hunt, it is an interactive game experience, leading you through a series of challenging puzzles themed to various countries and cultures around the globe. Each puzzle will be challenging and once solved you will receive all sorts of prizes! Every person that plays and completes the 17 puzzles will receive the prizes.

I am not going to get into the details of the puzzles, but here is a short summary of what you need to do to play this game:

1. The first thing you do is purchase a Passport, which is a HUD. You will be given landmarks upon purchase of where you will start the puzzle. The passports are L$300 right now, but at midnight SLT tonight (Valentine’s Day) they will go up to L$400. So click on over to the Global Domination Passports page and see where you want to pick up your passport. The hat I’m wearing in the first image is available at Baiastice if you purchase your passport from there.
2. Once you have your passport and you take the landmark to the locations you will need to start looking for clues. These clues will help you solve the puzzles. With each puzzle you solve, you will get a stamp on your passport. You need 17 stamps to complete the game.
3. Once you have all 17 stamps, you will be given a SLurl to the prize center, where you can claim all the prizes from the participating creators. Click over to the Global Domination prizes page to see what you are playing for.
4. In addition to those prizes which everyone who finishes can claim, there are three grand prizes! So if you are one of the first three to finish, you will win one of the three grand prizes which are also listed at the bottom of the prize page.

If you do have further questions about this, I know the Hottie Cooterati team has been very helpful and have been answering questions on there social media networks such as plurk and facebook. So feel free to poke any of them if you guys get lost or confused.
