The Springtime in NY fashion show was organized by Lipstick Publishing and took place on March 7th, 2008 at 1pm in Central Park, NYC. The models were provided by Nefritti Models, the agency that I work with.
I thought I’d share some of the outfits I wore in the show today. It’s nice to find out about new designers.

The first outfit I wore was Creme Spring Flower and it is part of the Spring Collection for Yowatashi Boshi Designs by Aqualyne Kohime. The top is done of silk and the skirt flows like falling petals around the knee area of the same silk. It also comes with matching shoes, purse and hat.

Another outfit was an Embroidered Skirt and Wrap Around Top by Kaddan Yue of OMG! Inc. This outfit is inspired by the ancient Greek and Roman style.

Finally the last outfit is called Loooove!dress night by Moanasyrene Boucher of MB-Designs! The dress has a corset made out of lace and the skirt is made of feathers. I am also modeling the Loooove!skin also by Moanasyrene Boucher of MB-Designs! The skin is light, glossy and has black lace on the side of the face.

It was a lot of fun, even though SL was really hating me today! Once, in the middle of walking down the runway I crashed and then when I came back my AO would not attach so I actually walked down like a newbie, but hey it was hilarious!

So there I was minding my own business organizing my inventory when I ran into this in my photo album. Why I still have this picture…I have no idea! Why am I posting this here and on my flickr, again I have no idea. Probably because I’m bored or I like it when people laugh at me!

Seriously though, laugh at me and you shall feel my wrath! Is it just me or do I have a really long neck?
It’s ok though, at least I’m all smexxy now. :P

errrrrrr……at least I hope I am! Aren’t I? Say yes or die! :P

Yesterday my friend IMs me and tells me about this event that’s going on called Viral Duets. I went to go check it out because it seemed interesting, especially after taking a peek at their website: http://2ndlive.org/scratch/2-mccretton.html

What Pipsi Bracken (the one in the picture with me) has done is motion captured two real life dancers and she has implemented those moves into Second Life so people would feel like they are genuinely interacting in a physical way with their avatar.

Basically on the floor there are circular objects and star-shaped objects. If you just left click on them once they will trigger the movement in your avatar (however for the circular ones you need someone else to click on the other circle since they are duets.)

It’s quite interesting to see my avatar moving quite gracefully at times and then all of a sudden losing balance, tripping, falling over, stumbling and behaving a bit klutzy just as if it were real life. I have never seen an avatar move like that in second life before and while they are still in the process of “tweaking” I guess, it’s still quite fun to play around with.

So I suggest if you have a few minutes, visit the 2nd live sim and experience it yourself, because the pictures definitely don’t do it justice!

I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time, but my little laptop didn’t have the best video card, so my pictures were just not good enough to show all the wonderful details of all of my favorite things. But now that I have my brand new spankin’ awesome desktop, I’m so HAPPY!!!
Now of course I have a long list of favorite things and I admit they are always changing. However, here is my favorite silk, tattoo and SIM at the moment!

My favorite silk of all time (and trust me I have oodles of silk because of my previous belly dancing job at Club Habibi) is,…………drumroll……………the Persia Silk in Teal from Solange Fashions! My goodness I love this silk. And it comes with so many options to wear it. I have way too many pictures in this silk too, because I must say it is just one of my most favorite things to wear. You can see the level of detail in it; it comes with a necklace and veil as well (which I am not wearing.)

Now I admit I’m not a big tattoo wearer, sometimes I do, but not always. But out of all my amazing tattoos that I just totally love, this is by far the most detailed and amazing tattoo I own. The name of this tattoo is “A Night in Kandahar” by Garden of Ku. Look at the amount of detail that went into this. And this is not the only phenomenal tattoo by designer Danel Kurosawa of Garden of Ku. He’s just brilliant at what he does and I suggest you look him up NOW!!!

I just can’t say enough about the beauty and splendor of 1001 Nights. You have to see it with your own eyes (as long as you have a decent video card and a fast connection.) The textures, the design, the detail, the thought, everything put into this SIM is a work of art. You can even go to the library there and pick up the original 1001 Nights translated by Richard Burton all in notecards. I’m not going to say anything more; I’ll just let the pictures do the talking. When you do arrive there though, please remember to read the notecard given and wear the tag provided if you are not interested in role playing.

There are even better images at both of the flickr groups dedicated to this gorgeous SIM. View them here:

I will be doing Berry’s favorite things every once in a while to let you know what my favorites are at that moment! Thanks for reading!

I wanted to tell y’all about a little place called Taste of India. I have some very fond memories here, for it is here where I first purchased something on SL. Before that I was a freebie queen but when I saw it, I knew I had to have it. So after hours of camping (oh nooosssss bad camping memories) I finally blew it all on a red tunic. Since then Taste of India has evolved quite a bit. Before they were just selling clothes from India, but now with all their new vendor spaces, they have all sorts of new designers selling all kinds of wonderful creations! If you haven’t been to this place, I really encourage you to do so, even if you aren’t looking to purchase a sari or a lehnga. They have new designers selling Middle Eastern clothing, tattoos, shapes, and much, much more.
Here’s a little taste of India that I personally own (yes my camping days are over, THANK GOD, so I have been lucky enough to get lots of things on the menu.)

My personal favorites are their saris. I think they have the best there is to offer and there are currently four designers that are making them. In the picture I am wearing Noori Noonan’s designs. I love this style and the colors she uses. But again, there are many more designs and colors there if you are looking for a sari.
Aside from saris they have a huge selection of lehngas, salwar kameez, and look there’s my red tunic! You will be able to find something in every color! The outfits below have been designed by Sam1177 Alito and Noori Noonan.

The newest installment (and a very promising and exciting one) is a designer that has just opened shop there. Her name is Zaara Kohime and her designs are just FANTABULOUS!!! The amount of detail and thought put into each dress is remarkable. When I saw her shop for the first time yesterday, I quickly picked up the three outfits below along with those gorgeous bangles she has designed. But I know I will soon be returning for more.

Finally, one of my other favorite little shops there is Souum Cortes’ INKredible tattoos. I love his tattoos and I’m so happy that he also does custom creations. Here’s one of my favorite tattoos from his shop, the rose vine!

Please remember to click on the images to view them in a larger size to see all the beautiful detailing on each and every one of these outfits.
Also, please note that they have so many more things there to offer including mehndi, bindis, jewelry and even Indian attire for men! Sam and Noori are the owners of Taste of India and they are always around chatting and helping out.
So folks, do not wait another minute, go check out Taste of India today!
