#UnitedAndKind Fundraiser in Second Life

#UnitedAndKind Nonprofit Fundraiser in Second Life

#UnitedAndKind is a new fundraiser that has started today in Second Life and will run till December 11th, this is the SLurl to the event. It was organized by Octagons Yazimoto and Skye Everidge, who also organized the Pulse Fundraiser back in July. 100% of the proceeds from the fundraiser will be equally split amongst the following four organizations:

  1. Color of Change – the nation’s largest online racial justice organization.
  2. Planned Parenthood – provides opportunities for proper healthcare and education to thousands of women across the nation.
  3. Naseeha – provides a confidential youth helpline for young Muslims to receive immediate, anonymous, and confidential support.
  4. The Trevor Project – provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention for LGBTQ youth.

I have done a little video on location at the fundraiser so you can get a glimpse of what’s for sale there and also at the auctions: https://youtu.be/G_elaXa8QjA

I had mentioned a couple of these organizations in my Love Trumps Hate challenge a few weeks ago. I am so happy to see that now there is a way to donate and support these organizations in Second Life as well. It really gives me hope to see people take action and support those that will need us more during the next few years. I hope this kind of love and support continues over the years.

Please take the SLurl and teleport over to the event and contribute if you can and don’t forget to spread the support and love in the real world as well! <3

  • What a great idea. Plus I was not aware of some of the organisations you mentioned in your post, so I will definitely finding out more about those!

    Thanks for the info.

This is such a cool idea. Not that I dontbtrust you or the designers to be well intentioned, but do they have an agreement that is viiewable with LL that everyone can see?

  • Moco, thanks so much for contributing!

  • just reading your plurk SB and i noticed how you’re using the straw-man argument to sell your ideals. It is really sad, because i read through your blog and some people disagree with you but i never once saw a hate comment, just people who disagree with you. from my point of view your acting like a victim because of the election to garner sympathy when most people don’t disagree with what your trying to raise money for… social justice… Just the way that your promoting and selling it on all your social media disgusts me. You’re not as neutral minded as i thought you were, you do have you agenda i guess and good luck with it.

  • fyi i hope you do raise a good amount of money for the people who need it ( no sarcasm and no hate intended)

  • Thanks Maddie!

You’re so right Vidia, no one attacked me personally at all, everyone was just sharing their opinions, which they absolutely have a right to do and that is why I didn’t delete any of the comments.

I mean, this person calling me a virtual nothing barbie (http://grabilla.com/06c01-1064cc34-f1bb-4134-bf0e-c98aec655a1b.png) wasn’t attacking me, they were just sharing their intellectual opinion about what I wrote in my post.

Also this person who linked an anti-muslim video (http://grabilla.com/06c01-6bce44d4-ae83-4460-ae68-5198d0a641cd.png) was not attacking me at all either, they were just sharing their opinions on every day muslims (not terrorists, but muslims) and me being a muslim should not take that as an attack at all.

Or this person on youtube calling me a crybaby retard (http://grabilla.com/06c01-29736d8b-44d7-4ea8-ba30-0ea44c9885a9.png) was in no way attacking me at all, just sharing their eloquent opinion.

And of course when you left your comment calling me a shit loser (http://grabilla.com/06c01-2f84c2bc-4a83-4ccc-ba62-4ce396e6095d.png) was not an attack at all, it was just your opinion of my blog post where I asked people to register to vote and donate and volunteer at charitable organizations that are trying to do some social good in this country.

So yeah, you’re right. I totally need to stop playing the crybaby, loser, virtual nothing victim here and just shutup and take it up the ass for the next four years. I get what you’re trying to tell me now. Thank you, for sharing your opinion, appreciate it. Please feel free to come back to my blog anytime (and give me more hits and ad revenue) to share your opinion once again, I look forward to it!
