Sadly, this morning I read the news about the 15 year old black boy who was shot and killed for bumping into someone while entering a dollar tree. This news, and the events at standing rock, had me incredibly frustrated. My outlet for that anger has always been poetry. So I turned to that. As my following poem says, the events of the world has lit a fire in my belly and soul, and I am so thankful for that.

  Hi Strawberry!!

  You asked us to post what we are thankful for, well, to be honest this year has been pretty hard on me. Yet I have a few things to be very thankful for, the first is being alive. I very nearly did something drastic, and final Around March 2015… but someone I never expected to notice how much pain I was in added me on my SL Facebook and said hello. Just him talking with me, checking in on me saved my life that day. Since then our friendship grew stronger, and eventually blossomed into love. Now he is my partner, and in February 2017 we will meet face to face. The second thing that I am greatful for, is the family and friends he brought into my life. Our so children, and the friends who were so supportive of us despite all of the drama that our relationship blossomed from.

  I know this was pretty long winded, but I had a lot to be thankful for. Love, Companionship, and finding my soul mate.

• Hi Berry, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounds with love and laughter. I am thankful for so much, but most thankful to have my ailing mother still here for another year.

• I am thankful for all the friends that I have come to meet in secondlife over the almost 7 years that I have been there. Even though everyone says it’s just a game you do connect with people on numerous levels. Some of those people stick by your side through the thick and the thin and others just walk away or fade away like they were never in your life. Well I am very thankful for the true friends in second life that have stuck around through it all madness this game can throw at you.

  RL wise I am very thankful for my very supportive family and friends. I can always fall back on them when needed. I got diagnosed with something 2 years back and I didn’t think I could handle doing the infusions on my own. I had a strong family say I could do it. Two years later I do them on my own and it has improved my health greatly. Rarely do I get sick. Which is a great blessing because my husband now actually has vacation days for vacation and sick days for sick days for himself instead of being home taking care of me.

• I am thankful for…Second Life. What I enjoy about SL is the amazing creativity, the beauty I can surround myself with, even pets!! I have amazing friends from around the world!! Our RL family suffered the most horrible blow this summer in losing my little niece so suddenly – yet we are all thankful for the time we had with her. My SL family was supportive during the worst, it really showed me how important the social aspects of this place is..I will treasure those friendships, that support forever. So, thank you SL!

• I do love the gift dispensing huds and subscription boxes and I purchased this advent HUD after reading the blog. I got to use it for part of the month, and knowing I was going in for a medical procedure I read the notecard in the calendar to make sure I could open everything past the date. Sure enough, the notecard confirmed it was ok if you missed days – you could go back and get them later.

  When I returned in January, I went to open all the days and kept getting an error message. Have spent weeks getting the runaround from MadPea… Although it was not posted at the point of sale or in the notecard, they said they did post that the calendar was only good until Dec 31st on their website and refused to offer a store credit, a refund or any assistance getting the gifts.

  This was my first experience with MadPea, and it left a bad taste in my mouth. With so many creators offering amazing customer service (Blueberry, Addams) it amazes me how some creators think they don’t need to take care of the customer at all. I guess it was 1000 linden lesson to stick to stores that take care of their customers.
