Xin is a mens store owned by Superjaix and he recently redid the mainstore. The sim is very well done, brilliant textures and lots to explore. The store itself is on a small part of the whole sim, the rest of the place has a bit of a post-apocalyptic grungy feel to it. I decided to do a couple black and white images as well. You can see more of my images of the sim on my flickr.

There is also a hunt going on at the sim with a free unisex bomber jacket available, if you find it. You can see an image of the jacket and a hunt hint on Superjaix’s flickr.

Weekly Roundup

  1. Photographer of the Week: Len Douglas – Len’s images have such a natural magazine feel to them, they are incredible. A must follow!
  2. Linden Lab requests SLurls – Linden Lab is asking us to share slurls to scenic places where they will take photo field-trips to. Share your favorite places in Second Life!
  3. Inworld Photo Field Trip – Linden Lab has already announced this month’s field trip. It will be on Wednesday, April 22 at 10:30am SLT at the Trace!
  4. The Drax Files: World Makers [Episode 28: Whiskey Monday] – I’m sure you all have seen this already but since I haven’t blogged Weekly Roundup in a while, I missed blogging it earlier, and I definitely wanted to mention this episode because I find Whiskey Monday incredibly inspirational.
  5. the drax files radio hour [with jo yardley] – Speaking of Drax, if you haven’t caught up on the last few weeks of the podcast, make sure to listen in. He’s covered a lot of the latest tech news, especially the demise of SL GO because OnLive has been acquired by Sony.
  6. Second Life in the News! – There has been quite a bit of positive press about Second Life these days. I thought I would share some of the articles I’ve found:
    > Remnants of Earth: the MMO inside Second Life on PCGamer
    > Second Life is Staying Alive on Good Magazine
    > A surrealist Second Life designer on the role of pure play on Hopes&Fears
  7. The Button on Reddit – I am kind of obsessed with it, but I haven’t clicked it yet! Have you clicked the button?
  8. Linden Lab’s PhotoBooth Contest – Quite a few people have asked me why the winners haven’t been named yet. I spoke to the Lindens and the winners have been chosen and will be announced very soon, they are just getting all the paperwork in order. So just thought I would share that for those that have been waiting!
  9. TerryLynn Melody – TerryLynn Melody is a Second Life Artist who has entered a real world contest for musicians on ArtistSignal.com. I thought I would share this article so the Second Life community can help her reach her goals and win $10,000! Click over to read Lei Lexenstar’s detailed blog post about it and then you can vote on ArtistSignal.com.
  10. Buzzfeed Quiz of the Week: What Does Your Taste In Men Say About You? – Obviously just had to do this one.

Have a great weekend! <3

  • Shame that Len has not posted to Flickr since December. Last note i received from him indicated he was on an undetermined length of time hiatus from SL.

    i miss him terribly.

  • Lots of great things to check out, this post. Thank you, Berry!
Oh…and the quiz said that I am PASSIONATE and AMBITIOUS. Hmmm… Well, I AM passionate, definitely. I am a planner and enjoy setting and meeting goals, so I guess that makes me ambitious. I’ve always thought of myself as a collaborator, but I have recently learnt that I generally want to either be engaged in helping others OR doing my own thing. Both must be done wholeheartedly, or I’m not interested. How interesting! Gonna have to think about that for awhile…
