Photobomb Meme
Definition of photobomb: To hop into a photo being taken at the last moment or anytime the people/things in the background of the image hijack the original focus.
Meme Instructions: Go out exploring the grid and find someone to photobomb, or share a picture or anecdote of a time that you were photobombed in Second Life. Don’t forget to leave a link to your post in the comments and share your picture in the Blog Memes flickr group.
Back in October, Eeky Cioc sent me a suggestion for a meme, Photobomb! I thought it would be a hilarious idea and saved it in my big Google Documents file that contains all of the suggestions I receive for memes. Thank you guys so much for that btw! <3 If you're a photographer or blogger that tends to shoot on-location a lot, you'll know how often you can get photobombed in Second Life. Often at on-location shoots I have had to request someone to either move out of the way or just derender/hide them from the shot. One time I was even photobombed by a bird!
So I got all dressed and set out to photobomb someone. I wanted to do something as funny as Kevin Spacey’s epic photobombing of the infamous Oscars pic.
I went straight to Santaurio Beach since the last time I was shooting there it took me over an hour because the sim was packed with people everywhere and I was getting continuously photobombed. However, now the sim has become private and the only way you can enter it is by joining their inworld group (which costs L$300). I had joined it when I went there before so luckily got in easy. However, now the sim is not as busy as it was before. But I actually like it better now. It’s a lot cleaner and will be great for photoshoots in the future. I walked around for a while trying to find someone to photobomb but didn’t really find a good opportunity until…I met this gentleman sitting in the chair.
My first instinct was to go stand behind him and take a shot but then he started talking to me. He asked me if I would like a lemonade and have a seat beside him. I then told him what I was up to so he agreed to help me cheat. Yes, I was planning to cheat on this meme 😛 I decided that I would say that he photobombed ME while I was taking a shot of myself. So I setup the shot and then realized that off in the distance there was a naked lady that photobombed the both of us, lol! You can see her there by the trees. So I guess this picture is a photobomb within a photobomb?
It was fun and he was very sweet to help out. I promised him I wouldn’t share his name though, I guess he likes to stay anonymous. But if he is reading this, just wanted to say thank you for helping me out today! <3 I hope you guys get a chance to actually photobomb someone or share a story about being photobombed yourself.
