Am I Drow-ing Right?
I’ll be the first to admit that I know nothing about fantasy or roleplaying, especially in Second Life. However, I saw that Mochi of Pink Fuel had released some Drow skins at we <3 roleplay this month. I thought they were quite well done but what amazed me the most about them was, she has made almost every applier required currently on the grid for different mesh body parts. She also promises applier updates for life. I didn't break out my mesh breasts, azz and such for the post though, but of course my slink hands and feet never come off so they were easily tinted in a minute and then I started to accessorize the look. I realized I didn't know much about Drows, except that they are mythical creatures, usually seen as evil elves with black skin and white hair. The Drow females are known to be quite dominating and usually have a very fierce look.
I have also been keeping my eye on Alchemy recently because of the well crafted roleplay accessories, clothing and weapons. They had released their Druid Headdress at last month’s we <3 roleplay, which I bought right away because I thought it was just stunning, except I hadn't worn it yet. I never know how to style these things. But then I thought perhaps the druid headdress would work well with the Drow skin, so I put it on and tbh, I kind of fell in love. But what are Druids exactly? They actually aren’t mythical creatures like Drows, they existed at different times and places over history and were known as spiritual healers. Nothing like Drows at all. So I thought, can I be a Drow and wear a Druid headdress? I don’t know. Maybe if I add a serpent to the mix it might make me look more evil?
All these weird thoughts in my head as I styled this today but I kind of like this look and I had fun so that’s all that really matters, right?
Check out all vendors + pricing at we <3 roleplay this month on the Seraphim blog.

it’s my EVIL Elvis lip curl! 😛
Very nice work as always.. loving the lip! Get them Girl! lol
It is stunning. What i love the most in this picture, besides the look, it is the dept and realistic effect you put in the body. What psd technique did you use, if im permitted to ask?
Brilliant work!
Thank you Silver! <3
Sofia, I actually did a lot of processing to these images. Recently a friend told me about the Topaz Labs filters so I got them and have been playing around with them. So much fun! So I used two filters as well as my regular processing that I covered in this tutorial: https://strawberrysingh.com/2013/06/15/tutorial-processing-a-headshot
Hope that helps!
While I’ve seen and read some folklore articles on the Drow, I don’t play my Drow straight. From every account I’ve heard/seen inworld and through word of mouth, Drow are dark, yes; but not evil per se. I’ve always been told that they carry an air of superiority, can be quite condescending and therefore they speak that way as well.
While they live under earth, and in dark corners, they do love music. But I’ve also been told they always dress in white.
When I play my Drow, the only “common” thing about my Drow as compared to others is the dark skin, elf ears and the lightness of eye (as some drow do have lilac eyes and I found a perfectly wonderful eye to match that).
But my storyline when I do fit up for Drow is that I’m a half breed and don’t fit in anywhere.
Here are a few shots of me in Drow.

One of my sisters hates when I “go dark” because it’s usually a reflection of what I’m feeling inside (and accurately so as I’m usually not in a good place when I put it on). She also says I have a white light inside that is being hidden when I do it; that I don’t belong there.
Here is an extra link for reference regarding Drow. I found it to be more helpful than the wikipedia pages I came across.

Oooh…and you know I have to have that skin! I must have overlooked it at We <3 Roleplay and it doesn't appear to be for sale at the Pink Fuel mainstore yet. SIGH…I'll keep searching!
The good news is, though, that I found another perfectly evil-but-beautiful skin there. Had to have it! Natch!
Great photo, Berry. I love that look!
On the Avilion sims in SL, a drow is considered a member of a race like human or dragon, whereas a druid is a role like a knight, bard or rogue. So, yes, you could be both a drow and a druid!
I love it!
I have been meaning to ask you, I saw a tutorial on how to get the # to match your skin. Do you have it or did I read it some where else? Or know where one is?
Hey Meav, sorry I haven’t seen a tutorial like that.
