Happy New Year!

I wanted to wish you all a very happy 2014! I hope your holidays were fun but safe, and you were surrounded by loved ones.

My Christmas was wonderful with lots of family around and then for New Years I went out of town for a couple of days. New Years Eve was especially magical for me and so far 2014 has started off wonderfully. I hope we all have lots of good times and moments to look forward to in 2014!

Friday Find: WatchTower Sim

I’ve blogged the WatchTower sim before, many times, but I wanted to feature it for one of the Friday Finds because I really adore the place. I also love the fact that they let you rez on the sim so I was able to rez the pose for ManBerry and I, and shoot inside the Cheeky Tiramisu Cafe there.

There are two main areas on the WatchTower sim: The Cheeky Tiramisu Cafe and the Curly Vine – Winery & Tavern. You can see some gorgeous images of both of these places on the owner’s flickr as well as the WatchTower flickr group

Weekly Roundup

1. My Pinterest Boards – I’ve been getting more active on Pinterest lately, I love the way you can use it to share any kind of information using images. I’m a very visual person so this network is becoming more and more interesting to me. The last few weeks I’ve taken the time to create a few boards which I plan to add a lot more to. The first board is: “Second Life Tutorials” I’ve added all of my own and one from April Looming which I think is a must read for all content creators. I’ll be adding more to that board very soon.
   Some other informative boards I’m also working on are Information for Bloggers, Social Media and Photoshop Tutorials. I just recently started all of these and will continue to add to them whenever I get the chance. If you know of any good tutorials and informative links that you feel belong on those boards, feel free to leave me a link in the comments and I’ll take a look.
   Finally, the other board that I’ll be using for my photography clients is Couples/Group Poses that I have used over the years and I also use for my clients. I’m looking for more family oriented poses as I don’t have a lot of those so let me know which posers make good family-friendly poses.
2. Are you missing out on important Second Life news and communications in Gmail? – Recently this has been happening to a lot of people where Google has been a bit overzealous at locating spam and has started to put Second Life offlines into the spam folder. I know I have missed a bunch, especially during the holidays, because of this. That link will take you to a post on the Prim Perfect blog which will help you sort all this out so you don’t miss anymore important offlines.
3. Linden Lab’s New Year/New You contest! – Linden Lab is running another contest with some great Linden prizes for the four lucky winners that win this. However, this contest is Facebook-based, so you have to have a facebook account in order to enter it. Unless you are comfortable using your real life facebook account for Second Life activities, it may be a bit difficult to enter unless you create a profile for your Second Life avatar on Facebook. This is something that is against Facebook TOS so of course the FB Gods can delete your profile anytime without explanation. Hopefully FB won’t go on one of their massive deleting sprees before the contest is over if you do decide to go this route. Good luck to all those that enter!
4. Lame New Years Jokes – I felt bad making my twitter followers sit through my lame new years jokes that I shared on the first, so I figured the only thing I could do to make up for that is to make you guys sit through them as well. 😛
