Raph Dirval has release V4 of his NikitiN line. The cigs, cigars and joints are all mesh and have been re-scripted to reduce lag and script count. These smoking systems are for serious smokers in Second Life as they are very detailed and have full smoking animations.

Here is some info about the system:

  • 100% Mesh
  • Resizer (menu controlled, can fit all avatars)
  • Low Lag (Only 1 script for the main cigarette with a total of 4 including the HUD)
  • Animation (Fluid and realistic custom smoking animations)
  • Gender (Menu driven animations for both Males and Females)
  • Lighter & Pack (with animation that consists of taking a cigarette from the pack and burning it with the lighter)
  • Exhale (4 Different Smoking Animations: Nose – Ears – Mouth – Ring)
  • Hand (switch your cigarette from your mouth to your hand)
  • Falling Ash (Particles of ash fall from the cigarette)
  • Decay (You can set a timer to decay the cig automatically to 4 different sizes and then it can also autolight a new one)
  • Sharing (You can share a demo of the cig with a friend if they are standing near you.

All of the above options are all menu-driven with the red HUD that you can see in the image below. It’s very easy to use, you just attach all 4 components (the cig, the HUD, the ligher and the pack) and then set it up how you like.

There are also two other versions available: Cigars and Joints

So take the SLurl to NikotiN and pick up a DEMO. The demos are L$1, I thought I would mention that since I know a lot of people don’t like it when the demos are not free. Each color pack is L$499 and the big fatpack of each is L$1499. So this system is for serious smokers in SL that want to roleplay smoking in a very realistic fashion.

Disclaimer: I am not a smoker in either life. Although I do sometimes use a cig as a prop for certain looks in SL, I wouldn’t smoke in real life and am not advocating it in any way for real life because it’s of course bad for your health and also makes your breath all stinky! 😛

  • A shame they don’t have one without a filter, like most people smoked them in the olden days.
If they had, we could use them in historical sims.
Luckily I’ve found the cigarette holder Ernst Osterham made for his Albion shop.
Filterless old fashioned ciggies in a lovely vintage holder and with antique lighter to light them with.
    Lovely animations too.
Handy for when you visit 1920s Berlin!
