Friday Find: Hesperia of Templemore
I was searching for a place to feature for my Friday Find today and I came across Hesperia of Templemore on a flickr contact’s stream.This is the kind of sim that makes you want to take lots of pictures. There is so much to see and do there as well. The sim itself is dedicated to live music performances. I admit I haven’t been to many live performances in SL, but this places makes me want to go now. They have their own flickr stream and they are also on Facebook. I really enjoyed exploring this sim and definitely recommend you guys pay a visit as well.
One thing I did notice and struggled with a bit, I was walking along and all of a sudden I fell into the water, underneath one of the boats. I couldn’t figure out how to get up to land again and they have flying disabled on the sim. I eventually figured out that I can walk up one certain area to a grassy part again, but I was still stuck and couldn’t go much elsewhere. All that time was wasted just because I wasn’t able to fly out of there. I can understand since it is a sim for live music performances and having fly on may cause a distraction or something, but it’s really not the best thing for people who just want to look around, explore and take pictures. Requests for Sim Owners
I know it’s not possible for all sims, but I do have some requests for sim owners that take time to create gorgeous builds for us to explore and photograph:- Please let us fly: It really gives us more freedom to move around and explore your sim properly. Also helps us to stay out of the way when we are trying to take pictures of your sim.
- Please allow us to rez: I really only need to rez for 5 to 10 minutes, you can set the auto-return. A lot of sim owners allow rez for 30 minutes and that’s perfect. I always clean up after myself anyways but for those that don’t, the aut-return will take care of it. It helps when we want to rez pose stands or other items for better pictures.
- Please allow scripts: If you really don’t want us to rez, then please at least allow scripts so that we can use HUDs to pose each other. When sims don’t allow rezzing or scripts, it’s almost impossible to shoot an image.
Those are my three simple requests. What else would you request from sim owners?

- Tutorial: Quick and easy edit for profile pictures via Shyntae Demonista – I kind of have a girl-crush on Shyntae’s sexy accent so every time she does a video tutorial I squee a little.
- Fancy Kind of Kid via Gabe Bookmite – I think Gabe is incredibly stylish and I loved the look he had in this post. His face is perfection in that first pic, I wanna pull his beard!
- Second Life VLogging – Farrah Helendale is back to vlogging after a two month hiatus…weeeeee! Do you know of any other Second Life vloggers?
- Happy Diwali! – Some gorgeous pictures in this post from the festival of lights last Sunday.
- Youtubers getting famous – I totally admit, I am a youtube addict. I have been watching various youtubers since 2006, Boh3m3 was my first love. Anyhow, back in the day there was another youtuber that I loved watching, moviekidd826. He was adorable and I loved his little romance videos with Katie’s Opinion. So I found out that NOW he is a totally famous actor on Teen Wolf. He plays Stiles on the show but his real name is Dylan O’Brien. So because of HIM I decided to give Teen Wolf a try, they have full episodes on MTV’s website…and now I’m totally addicted! (Don’t judge me).

My two favourite tricks for getting out of being stuck: double-click teleport or camming to a chair or bench and sitting.
I rarely try to rez anything when I’m exploring, but I get disappointed when my LumiPro HUD won’t work (non-scripted sims). I use the pose animation directly from my inventory if I’m taking photos of myself, but no, that won’t work for other people you may be photographing. I have found that poses I have won from gachas are handy since they are transfer – I just pass it over to the person I’m shooting and they return it when we’re finished. I don’t have a lot of these, though, so I’m limited in choice.
No script sims have forced me to play with the Environment editor when I can’t get my attached lights from my LumiPro to work. I guess that’s a good thing in a way, since I’m terrified by the editor!
Most places that turn off scripts and rezzing have done so, sadly, because of griefers taking advantage to crash the sim. I worked for a club that had a bike track with a small rezzing area so people could rez their bikes, but after numerous sim crashes caused by griefers, they removed it. All it takes is being able to rez for a moment for certain devices to be set off and crash the sim. Another case of one bad apple 🙁

Used to be you could request admin status in the advanced menu and then fly. Firestorm has it as a toggle in Advanced, maybe Developer menu. I forget. Works everywhere. But use it to get out of trouble only, as sim owners get upset when they see people fly in no-fly zones.
You can add my anti-no-script-script to attachments such as HUDs and they run anywhere. It only affects scripts in the root prim, but sometimes that is all you need. I wrote this years ago for the free translator project so it would work anywhere.

It is so sad to find a awesome sim and as is usually the case, no rezz. just a 30 min rezz is fine. I am always searching for cool places to do couples shots, and even singles go soo much quicker is i can rezz a ball and have en sit so i can move them. BajaNorte and BlackBassalt have a good compromise – a fee to join group so rezzing is possible. Wish more owner of some these awesome sims would allow for temporary rezzing, my job would be so much easier!

“Please allow us to rez” – from your lips to the SIM owners ears! I have started writing quick notecards to places that allow us to rez, thanking them. Hopefully the good… will always outweigh the bad. xoxo
I confess to being a fan of the pose button – I pose, attach something I want to rezz and then edit to move it into position – doesn’t work for taking a picture of myself in anything lol but I can sneak a few items into a shot.
