Happy Ramadan!

Happy Ramadan!

Depending on where you live and of course the moon, the Islamic month of Ramadan will begin in the next few days for you. The past week my family has been feverishly getting all prepared for the starting of the month. I kind of have a love/hate relationship with this month because I love the feeling of celebration and unity it brings to my family and the community however, I also love food and miss it a lot during the days!

People often ask me why I bother to fast during this month, as I’m not a very religious person. I know I’m not a shining example of a pious muslim woman, but I am spiritual. I do have a lot of faith in God and in my community and culture. Fasting during this month makes me feel closer to my family and community as we all celebrate and fast together. It also makes me feel more connected to God as I try and pray and read the Quran more often. I continuously strive to be a good muslim, a good daughter, a good sister, a good friend but most of all, a good person.

So for those of you who will also be fasting this month, please remember to keep me in your prayers and I hope you all have a prosperous and fulfilling month. Happy Ramadan! <3 The bandana I'm wearing is the contribution from Zaara Kohime to Hair Fair 2013. Hair Fair starts on Saturday and here is some important information:

  • Hair Fair Blog – http://hairfair.wordpress.com
  • Hair Fair runs from July 13th till July 28th
  • Bandana Day is July 28th. All bandanas are L$50 each and all proceeds go to Wigs for Kids. The bandana I am wearing in this post is Zaara Kohime’s contribution. The jewels you see on my head are attached to the bandana and will come with it. They are a perfect match for Zaara’s gold Nizam set with white stones. (which can be seen here)
  • Hair Fair DEMO Group is open and you can join it to pick up all the hair demos before heading down to the fair on Saturday. This way you’ll have time to try on the demos in the comfort of your own home and/or lag-free sim and prepare your shopping list. I just joined it myself this morning, looking forward to trying on the demos!

And that’s about it, I hope you’re all getting ready for Hair Fair and Ramadan! Also, remember, if you’re on my plurk timeline, you’re not allowed to plurk about food from sunrise till sunset EST or you’re fired! 😛 JOKING! (not really) (AND YOU CAN’T EMAIL ME PICTURES OF COOKIES EITHER MR. JEFFERSON!!!)
