SL DisneyBound – Merida

Brave
(raw shot)

The talented Natalee Oodles of Style Minions has been holding an ongoing blogger challenge for about 6 weeks now called Disneybound. You can learn more about the challenge from her first initial post introducing it. Every week I have been watching in awe as so many have been styling themselves up resembling Disney characters. I have been aching to participate but I haven’t had the time. But this week is Merida of Brave and I absolutely could not resist.

Merida is one of my most favorite Disney characters. Unlike the other Disney Princesses that usually need a man to “save the day;” Merida is a fiery, independent and brave girl who can take care of herself! I absolutely adored this movie and the relationship between the mother and daughter was especially touching.

I’m so happy I got the opportunity to participate in Natalee’s challenge this week. I am going to try and join in whenever I can. If you’d like to join, check out her Disneybound tag to see all of the ones she’s done so far and you can also join the flickr group.

I decided to take my images at the beautiful Straylight sim. It had been a while since I had visited there. It’s definitely one of my most favorite places on the grid.

Whenever I participate in a challenge that is run by another blogger, I put that post in my challenges category. Due to lack of time, I don’t get the opportunity to do them often. Hopefully I’ll be able to make time to participate in more. I really had a lot of fun with this one! Hope you guys participate as well. I’d love to see more Meridas!

    Very Beautiful!

  • Beside Merida, you also very much resemble Maid Marion from the 80s Robin of Sherwood TV show (aka Judy Trout). I always wanted to look like her when I was a teen watching that show. I thought for sure, when I started in SL, that I would arrange for my Avatar look like Marion, but because of one thing and another, not so much. I really love what you’ve done here. Bravo!

::Remembers self:: Oh, hi! First time comment-er here. I’m a big big fan of your blog! I’ve been in SL for about two years now, but I’m just getting into blogging about it. You have been an inspiration. I plan to tackle your all your memes this summer when I have more time to write.

  • Thank you guys and thank you so much to all those that hit the like button on this post too, I really appreciate it! <3

Lolanthe, I remember watching Robin hood in the 80s as a child and now that I think of it, you're right, I do look like Maid Marion! Thank you for the kind comments, looking forward to your responses to my memes. <3

  • You did an awesome job portraying Merida! <3 Love it!

The images are lovely. However, I’m interested in actually finding a designer who makes a great “animated movie” version of Merida. I found E.V.E. from WALL-E, but I’ve yet to find any other Disney characters – probably a copyright issue. huh?
