I’m a Runaway

Mandala has just released three new mesh ears, one of them is a clean, simple version with no piercings at all. I was so happy to see that. I plan on wearing it often with my own earrings. They are so easy to resize and tint, it literally took me 3 minutes to match them to my tone here. They don’t have any demos available but I still recommend them.

The sweater, pants and shoes are all new mesh releases from some very stylish brands. The sweater is from Epoque. I love the texture on it, it’s really well done and the spikes on the shoulders give it a bit of a futuristic look. The pants are from Drift and come with a color changing HUD for the belt/bow. Kallisto has been releasing some really stylish pieces lately, so if you haven’t checked out her store, definitely drop by. Finally, the bag and shoes are both a sexy new release from Baiastice.

I love all the meshy goodness being released to the grid recently. I remember a time where I could not do an image without liquifying the hell out of the weird bumps and bends on clothing and body, but because of mesh I am barely doing any of that now. Everything just looks so much better.

People are always asking me which viewer I’m currently using and which works the best for me; at the moment, since this blog post about gridlines, I have been exclusively using the Beta Viewer. I shoot my images at 4000 width and they turn out beautiful. I do have some issues with crashing often, but I noticed that happens more if I’m logged in later in the evenings. It doesn’t tend to happen if I login earlier in the day or morning. Which viewer is working the best for you guys these days?

  • I think the gridline fix has now made its way into the regular viewer. A little while back I updated my regular viewer and my beta viewer too (I want to say about two weeks ago). The updated beta viewer seems really buggy to me- attachment points not working right and stuff, more crashes too. So I tried the updated regular SL viewer and did my picture at my normal 3 times my size 4800, and it works perfectly with no gridlines now! Hope that helps =)

  • I still use Singularity for my every day viewer, because I’m still not 100% used to the V3 layouts and such, but for taking blog photo’s I use Niran’s exclusively. I love the amount of control over graphics (and nearly every other type) settings in Niran’s Viewer.

  • I am definitely using the SL Beta Viewer now almost exclusively for my photographs because of the lack of gridlines. It’s like I hardly pose edit anymore.
