Hair Fair

Hair Fair

Hair Fair is still about a month away but I wanted to blog about it now for two reasons: the hair fair contest and bandana day.

Every year the Hair Fair organizers hold this official hair fair contest with amazing prizes. I always try to enter because it’s so much fun. This year however, I noticed they had a “freedom” theme for the contest. I’m not sure if there were themes in the past, but I was kind of stumped and I’m not sure if my image really screams FREEDOM but it’s ok, I still had fun making it. 😛

I actually used Picmonkey for the majority of the editing in the first image. I am really starting to enjoy using Picmonkey, I’m definitely going to use it more often for my images.

Bandana Day is always the last day of Hair Fair. At the event you will notice bandanas for sale everywhere, the proceeds to all those bandanas goes to Wigs for Kids. On bandana day people remove their hair to show they care and wear the bandanas they have purchased during the event. Anyone can create a bandana to be sold at the fair. If you are interested in creating one to help raise funds you can contact Sasy Scarborough inworld and she will send you a Bandana Day Kit with all of the information and supplies needed.

Don’t delay because both the contest end date and submission date for banadana day is June 30th!

  • I actually use Picmonkey, and before that Picnick, as I don’t have Photoshop. Although my photos aren’t in the same league as yours, I love the results that I’ve been getting, and it’s fun to use:)

    Can’t wait for Hair Fair!

  • Beautiful pics and you have the Freedom to decide whatever makes you feel free, whether it be something that to others evokes that message, or it’s just you spending time taking pics in Second Life is when you give yourself freedom from all other things you may have to do in a day/week/month etc. We chose the theme because it is all encompassing and there is nothing more freeing than that 🙂

Thank you so much for mentioning both leading up to events for Hair Fair 2012, it makes me so happy when people from all over contribute through Bandana Day, it shows Community Spirit reaches all over Second Life.

  • Oh that is so amazing! I haven’t heard of Picmonkey before but damn, I better check it out. 🙂
